If anything good comes out of this it should be a revised restraint system. The seating on Space Mountain is super cramped if you have legs and the current lap bar doesn't make it any more comfy. Make it like Big Thunder Mountain where it goes across the whole seat.
wouldnt that be worse? if this person was able to wiggle himself out from an individual lap bar then would would happen if a bigger person sat next to a smaller person. the bar would only go down far enough to fit the heavier person

Well, that’s why I always ride with Lieutenant Dan. At least one of us has a good time.

this whole people not taking responsibility reminded me of an incident in IASW.

this happened a few months after the child died in roger rabbit and reports said the child stood up and fell.
Family and I were on IASW and a family with three children were in the bench seat in front of us. when they boarded the boat they were told to put children in the middle but soon after the boat went into the showroom one of the children wanted to be next to water. The Father told her she couldn’t but the mother let her. meanwhile one of the boys kept standing up on the bench while the mother just sat there and ignored them.

it got to the point that my Mother was spending more time making sure the boy didn’t fall since ahe was behind him. I decided to just go ahead and aak the mother to please ask the child to sit because it was dangerous and he could fall.

she didnt like me telling her and actually told me to mind my business and that if he fell that she would sue Disney for not having seatbelts.
we didn’t want to start an arguement so as soon as we got off we called a castmember and told them what had happened and they called security.
luckily another person on boat also reported it.
security came and took the family aside and backstage.
not aure what security does at that point. Im guessing they were escorted out.

it does show though that people are so used to ignoring common sense. in my travel i have overheard mostly american tourist complain about thing like pyramid or place like machu pichu nit having gardrails instead of having common sense and just not stand in edge so you wont fall to your death.
