Thanks, many have read my post but you are the only one to reply. We loved the Gumbo at the Blue Bayou and will check their and at NewTry asking them for it! Sometimes its at the New Orleans restaurant. That Gumbo is really good! Have you tried the mint julep and fritters at the side window of this restaurant? They are fantastic!
If I am really hungry the fried chicken dinners are fantastic!

If you want something outside Disney there are some great options on Harbor Boulevard directly across the street from Disneyland east entrance. There is a McDonalds, Panera Bread, Ihop, Denny's, and Tony Romas.

I called today and the are currently serving the New Orleans gumbo at the blue Bayou Direct phone number for menu and reservations is (714) 781-3463 https://disneyland.disney.go.com/dining/disneyland/blue-bayou-restaurant/
I wouldn’t consider these great options at all, especially McDonald’s and Denny’s. Panera Bread is decent.
OP, if you want something outside the parks, there’s a Roscoe’s down the street. I’d recommend that over any and everything directly across the street on Harbor.
Because he said he was going to be at the resort for a week! I had also mentioned that I liked the chicken in the Plaza Inn. I would not eat at McDonnalds but lots of people do. I mentioned these restaurants because they are in walking distance to the resort. I am guessing he might be flying and may not have a car or know the area. After the price increase for EVERYTHING at the resorts and maybe wanting a bit of variety I thought mentioning these options might be beneficial. Over the years I have gotten some valuable information from people that I never knew to ask about! The OP asked specifically about the BLU BAYOU GUMBO so why would someone recommend McDonald's? Since when do they serve gumbo at McDs?
Back in the 70s there was a Jolly Roger restaurant on Ketella. It was part of the hotel that is now the Residence Inn. They had a kids menu that folded out to a pirate hat. There were pictures of pirates and ships on the walls. We would always have diner there after Disneyland. It is a shame that Walt did not live long enough to see his dream of Captain Kidd's opening become a reality.
