Guest Service? Sometimes... sometimes not...

Well, i'm newish.. to these boards and being a CM.

But.. I think my opinion is valid..

Today i was told by a manager: "There's nothing wrong with telling the truth."

Sometimes the local fires cause enough smoke to get into an attraction to trip a fire alarm. Sometimes people jump out of a moving vehicle. Sometimes projection bulbs burn out on a critical screen.

We don't go around ruining people's days by telling them "That's fake.. that's fake.. that's fake..." but we do explain it to the curious.

Off the clock - We are human beings. We have rights. We are allowed to comment on how we were treated as guests.

If you're worried about strict "Magic Preservation" then Disney probably should of never allowed the Imagineers to create books about their processes. I should not have a book which details the construction of Spaceship Earth as a ride experience with show scenes because it's really a time machine.

It's all about personal discretion. There are no clear cut lines, but your perspective seems skewed. Wouldn't you rather people know it is considered a lacking of guest service in the eyes of a CM than the norm if things go astray?

Just some thoughts...
