Rumor Guest Boat Rentals Not Returning

The mini golf courses are a pretty fun way to kill an hour or two -- we had a voucher for free rounds on my last trip. Not sure why; I think it may have been part of the discount package.

With that said, there was almost no one else there so I would not be surprised to see them on the chopping block eventually. They could use the land for something else.

The golf courses are a different story I think. They're not the best courses in the world, but they're not bad, and I imagine they get some play from Orlando locals/other people who aren't even going to WDW. Five years ago I could have seen them shutting them down (they already did sell one to the Four Seasons), but COVID has caused a big golf boom and they may be solid revenue producers at the moment, although I can't say that for sure.

I love the mini golf, its easily an afternoon time killer for us, coupon or not. We enjoy playing both courses at Fantasia.

As far as the actual golf courses, I dont see those going anywhere. Magnolia and Palm are great courses and have hosted tour events. The 9 hole course isn't half bad either. Those are run by a management company anyway, but they stay pretty busy

Yeah they've hosted tour events but they're really not great. They're fine, but I've played dozens of courses that are significantly better.

Regardless, I agree that they aren't going anywhere.

There would be almost no reason to demolish mini golf, unless they could use that space for something else.

Disney's Winter Summerland DVC kiosk anyone?

They cost little to staff and maintain, so there's no net gain as a cost cutting measure.

Really? This is the first I've heard of it. I would miss the boats more than mini golf though... at least I've done the former.
I’m not sure at all... pre Covid it looked like they were no longer being maintained.. features no longer worked properly no new paint... and new construction was fast encroaching on the Fantasia course. It had all the tell tale signs of being phased out.

It was my observation only.. based on what I saw and conversations with some WDI people but that was pre Covid
So you're just making up?

So you just assumed and then stated that as a fact?

The swan reserve project is designed around the course. If they were going to remove it they could have made much better use of the space for that project.

Again, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to upset or stir anything up. I should have done a better job choosing my words

I deserved that! I’m sorry
In your defense, those courses are similar to the water parks in that they get very abused by the Florida weather. I believe they each go down for refurb every year, so if you caught it on the back end, it might not have been in the best shape.
