OK everyone who has rode GotG Cosmic Rewind. It's been open long enough that there should be some good reviews on this ride. I'm going in November and want to know if I should make plans for it. I'm 66 and some rides are starting to bother me although I still ride Tot and RnRcoaster without a problem.

If you're prone to dizziness take your time before you go up the stairs or use the elevator, thats my biggest bit of advice if you're worried. The motion catches up with you a few seconds after you step off.. The ride is incredibly smooth so you're not going to be hurting like a rickety old coaster but they light headedness is definitely a thing. I'm sure you've read that it isn't free spinning so its not terrible, the ride "points" you in different directions and the train keeps going straight.

Great ride...VERY smooth.

If you're prone to diziness/motion sickness then ask for an even number row when you're about to board...the pivot point on the carts is towards the back, so there's more motion in the front, less in the back.

It's not scary at all, you don't spin all the way round like a spinning coaster, it just pivots each side to face towards the action. It's mainly just a coaster which goes in a tight circle many times.

Pretty tame.

IMO this is the best ride WDW has opened in a very long time! I could take or leave Rise. Rat is very good, but GotG is great fun!

We tried multiple different rows and didn't notice much of a difference. CM's said rows 5/6 were the tamest, but biggest difference we noticed is the front row can see the track a little better.

In my opinion, the real key to enjoying the ride is to relax as much as possible, and groove to the beat of the music. The ride is trying to capture THAT aspect of the movies. In GotG Vol.2, Groot dances to ELO's Mr. Blue Sky while surrounded by a battle, but the audience really only sees Groot. That's the vibe of the ride. If you watch the opening of the movie, the characters actually argue about the importance of the music just before the fighting starts.

Later in the movie a number of key scenes also occur to music clips.

(The end of the GotG Vol. 1 also has Groot dancing to Jackson Five's "I Want you Back.")

Beyond that, it is good to go through the full queue the first time you ride it and listen to the audio clips along the way as much as possible.

The only place I think you have to be careful is actually before the ride starts: riders were pretty aggressive exiting the pre-show. For some reason WDW hasn't yet thought to station CM's there.

from my trip report...

So how was it? AMAZING, UNIQUE, and an ABSOLUTE THRILL like none other I experience on a "roller-coaster". Everyone in our party agreed.

The backward launch was a blast - I didn't get queasy unlike the backwards drop in EE where I always feel a little something in the stomach. The difference - Guardians is straight back while EE turns.

After the launch backwards your "car" turns around and faces a huge screen that shows the Guardians facing off against Baddy. The music is now blasting. We had "Conga" by Gloria Estefan and the Miami Sound Machine and it was perfect. The sensation you feel is very unique. As you are "flying through space" the motion and turning of the car is butter smooth and gives you a sense of weightlessness. It's hard to explain but all of us were laughing with joy, unlike EE or other coasters where it's more screaming than laughing. I never felt any motion sickness but can see why some do.

I loved it.

It’s not extreme nor weak

It’s long enough…unlike most recent Disney offerings.

It’s got a bit of schtick…but it’s a rollercoaster and doesn’t feel “forced”

Sound track variation is great. Though I’d be happy with TFF every time

Hell…just go to kennywood and ride the T ⚡️

I've also been to both Busch Garden which compare to Cedar Pointe - Hersheypark btw is right up there and seem to add a new hyper-coaster every year. Skyrush being the most terrifying as it's a dive coaster with only a thigh bar holding you in.
and of course there's nothing quite like Kingda Ka in NJ.

But to my point, The smoothness and sensation in GotG was wonderfully unique. At least to me.

Meh…been on all those 🤪

I really like guardians…it’s a good “blended” ride to me…

But I don’t consider it that “thrilling”…just fun.


Which is all I want from Disney rides…fun.
