News Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind attraction confirmed for Epcot

What even is the GoTG Attraction? I’ve read the release note and can’t tell if it’s a ride, an observatory, or something in the middle (something that would acts like Stitch's Great Escape, start as an observatory and go into a ride).

It’s a roller coaster with dark ride elements. Think Mummy, 7DMT, Crush Coaster, etc.

Looks like the solar panels are coming back? That'd be great to see.

The Epcot Experience teaser for this ride does not make me optimistic that it will fit in EPCOT at all. Not that I had high hopes it would fit to begin with, but the teaser is all about Rocket cutting off the actual pavilion/embassy speech and blasting music instead. That's at least somewhat on theme with the movies themselves (although it felt a little off even for the movies to me), but it really reinforced my belief that it belongs in Hollywood Studios.

I'm sure it will be a fun ride, but the teaser makes it seem more like a RnRC or a Tron than anything that should ever go into EPCOT.

Guardians is just Captain EO without the baggage of Michael Jackson's legacy. That's why it got shoved into Epcot.

Except Captain EO was a side attraction, not the focal point of Imagination. It didn't change the main ride or Image Works.

Guardians has the whole pavilion, and its extension, dedicated just to it.

EO was also a pretty good fit in the park in the 80s. I say that as someone who was there.

A slight bump for this thread, work is starting for concrete forms for the new entrance to the Energy building. Looks like it should be getting closed up pretty soon. Photo from the forbidden site.

Something I noticed, the launch tunnel to the gravity building doesn’t quite line up with the Energy building, so it kind of extends to the side a bit to connect. Looks quite jarring right next to the dark grey of the building. I wonder if that wasn’t the result of a mistake in the measurements during construction.

A mistake like that would be easier to fix, and at the contractor’s expense, than redo all of the things that would be impacted.

Here are some photos of the inside of the building. It appears most of the actual queue structures are in place. Also note the curved beams near the front center, possibly the Galaxarium?

Any guesses or information out there that would suggest a potential length of the ride.
I'm really hoping its longer than Tron. A 1 min rollercoaster is just plain silly.

They are aligned.

What's not perfectly aligned is the angle the photo was taken.

So you're seeing the bump between buildings with different heights.

I thought I remembered reading the ride itself will likely be in the 60-90 second range.
