Oh, perfect... leaving the track outside in the elements for who-knows-how-long for it to start internal rusting and corroding and falling apart before they even get it installed...
You do realize track sits outside the factory it's made for days, weeks, or months at a time right? The B&M factory in Ohio usually has a mess of finished track pieces waiting to be delivered.
Or was this a joke I missed?
You do realise that most coasters are based outdoors?
Ya...I'll take that one. I assumed you were going after the fact they were all "laid out" not the whole "coasters are outside 99% of the time".
I can only assume that the ride will be air conditioned, and all the alligators will be escorted out of the gravity building prior to soft opening...Ya...I'll take that one. I assumed you were going after the fact they were all "laid out" not the whole "coasters are outside 99% of the time".
Hard to believe though but people do really question having coaster parts in fields. It's seen differently when they're built vs separated out like that. Something about water corroding from the inside out....ya I don't get it either.
Truly a brain fart to the n'th degree on my part.

You could only do it during the day with an LED display that would cost 10s of millions of dollars. No projector is bright enough to overcome the sun on a surface more than a few square feet in size. That’s actually not a bad idea, put a camera on the back and project the sky on the front in real-time conditions. It may not work well at night or during sunrise/sunset (because of the layers of light colors appearing differently at different vantage points), but I would guess that would dramatically improve its camouflage during most daytime conditions!
Yeah. They're probably going to have to tear down and retrack SDD every 3 years!Oh, perfect... leaving the track outside in the elements for who-knows-how-long for it to start internal rusting and corroding and falling apart before they even get it installed...
I still like the idea I presented a couple of hundred pages back - mirrors.I still giggle a bit whenever someone says "Oh, just stick a camera and a projector on it."
Ignoring the technical challenges, like projection brightness, camera resolution, weather, etc, there's one big conceptual issue: perspective. Sure, it may look like you can see right through it from the right perspective. But pretty much everywhere else would make Hyperion theater look realistic.
Try it for yourself. Open the camera app on your phone. Rotate your phone 20-45° away from your face. Does the perspective still match?
There's dozens of other challenges associated with that approach. You're talking about digital stealth, something that exists pretty much only in sci-fi at a scale like that.
Would it be cool? Hell yeah. Is it feasible for this project? Not one bit.
Or just turn into the WoM building, with bendy panels and tacky inconsistenciesI still like the idea I presented a couple of hundred pages back - mirrors.
But then they'd risk blinding people or inadvertently creating a death ray...
Ya know, I’m not gonna lie, it took me a second to spot it there.Other than it being the beast of a warehouse that it is, it slightly blends in. View attachment 340603
Plant some of those very tall palm trees in front of it to break up the outline and it'd help more.Ya know, I’m not gonna lie, it took me a second to spot it there.
In fairness, the tacky inconsistencies only happened when it became TT.Or just turn into the WoM building, with bendy panels and tacky inconsistencies
Mirrors would have given the building a modern tech look and brought it out more in competition with Spaceship Earth.I still like the idea I presented a couple of hundred pages back - mirrors.

Seriously...just tear down the ugly scaffolding and build a lower, smaller, more thematically fitting roof from the front of the building. You can still have a small area for queue overflow while making it look cleaner. At least it won't look bad from a distance then.In fairness, the tacky inconsistencies only happened when it became TT.
What, then, do you feel are the tacky inconsistencies you referenced?I like the test track scaffolding
