PHOTOS - Guardians of the Galaxy construction update at Epcot

Interesting that the latest installed panels near the top are ribbed. Only reasons that comes to mind is to create an "optical illusion" that helps to hide the mass or to break up the glare it may receive as a southern exposed face. But it looks like it's on the parking lot side too, so I'm not sure.

Anyone else have any thoughts as to the decision for using ribbed panels at the top? Besides the obvious joke?

EDIT: On a closer look, it appears all the panels are vertically ribbed. My bad. Just seems much more noticeable near the top. Maybe due to lighting. Disregard everything I said.

ETA in response to your ETA: The ribbing does appear to get noticeably more pronounced, though, so I don’t think you’re entirely wrong.

That looks shorter than what we have now or maybe it is the angle?

From the area in front of Energy /WOL the new building is pretty hard to see. It is well hidden behind the existing trees.

It's actually hard to see from anywhere in future world. It only becomes visible when you get further away (across the far side of World Showcase).

What's up with that hole they cut out on the roof of the old building? At first I thought that maybe it was a hatch door or something for service, but looking at old construction photos I didn't see it.

Because The Land is a well thought piece of architecture, GotG is an insluated metal panel clad, pre-engineered warehouse appended to the rotting hull of a formerly incredible attraction.
