Marvel Superhero Island is restricted to using the comic book and graphic novel versions of the characters, and only the ones that were already depicted there.

Or those that were optioned before Disney bought Marvel. I believe the reason you've seen GotG and Dr Strange in parks is nobody ever thought to option them. There are plenty of MCU/marvel comics characters that Universal holds the east coast display rights to, but they haven't put in their park.

That may change in the future.. Disney is kinda the 800 lb gorilla in that market, and may just end up dangling enough cash in front of Universal that the contract changes.. they already got Sony to let them use spidey. So we'll see.

I suspect this ride is going to be mostly, if not entirely, indoors. I don't think it's going to be skyline impacting beyond the height balloons that were previously flown in the area. I think if anything, you are going to see another sky painted show building, like Soarin.

I think it will definitely be indoors. That's why I would love to see something similar to the now defunct Tomb Raider ride, instead of trying to do another indoor coaster. That type of system/experience would be perfect., except for the capacity issues.lol. But-- Disney is probably the only one who can afford to solve that problem by having 3 theaters.

A slower, staged ride (I don't know from tomb raider), with show blocks could handle a lot more trains. A pure gravity coaster like RnRRC can only handle one train on the track at a time. But with a concept like a slow flyer that moves and stages from place to place, (more like BTMRR.. once a train clears the first block, another can be dispatched), will have a pretty high throughput.

Here's what I'm talking about, it was entirely indoors..you didn't see the ride itself until you entered into the chamber ready to board..it was amazing. You would go thru scenes and a story line by raising, dropping, flipping..

Ahh. A Huss Topspin.. yeah.. they are slow to load and unload, and a long ride cycle.

Also, as far as I'm concerned, a great big NOPE.

I think he was more pointing to the idea of a 'thrill' ride with show stops than the actual ride system itself.

There is no such restriction mentioned in the contract. Depictions must be in line with the style guides.

What, praytell, is its 'namesake component'?
‘Theme’ would be the namesake component of ‘theme park.’

That's why it no longer exists.. and Cedar Fair isn't going to spend the money to make multiple theaters.. Disney could.
It would be something different, and thoroughly exciting.

But like I said, I'm only holding a slim secret hope that someday Disney or Uni would recreate it.lol

Looks like the Cliffhanger ride at Canada's Wonderland, only indoor, and no water jets, and it's actually themed.

Dorney is my home park.. AKA "where Cedar Fair's test rides go to die". We end up with all the old crap. LOL.

We got the first top spin after it left.. I wanna say CP. And it was broken more than open.

Yep. I got that. Like 7DMT.. the lift is a show, not just a lift. The staging brake coming into the station is a show as well. As opposed to space Mountain or RNRRC which is a pell mell race through quick effects and images.

My gut thinks this is going to be more like say, Black Diamond at knoebels.. where it's a multi "show" slower coaster, than RnRRC.

Cedar Fair ruined the ride. Paramount spent $20 million dollars to build it, the largest ride system of anything of it's kind, as well as the most inversions. It really was unique.

Then Cedar Fair bought the park and tweaked the ride... and then it closed a few years after.. now it's a seasonal haunted house.
I'll never forgive them. :( lol

And how exactly do you know this breaks the 'theme' of Epcot? I've previously quoted it in this thread already.
How the attraction connects to EPCOT Center was announced. Throughout the whole presentation, Disney did not discuss stories and ideas. The entire focus is on brands and it is those brands that now create the defining characteristics of a “Disney” park. That’s how this is “more ‘Disney.’”

CF hates dark rides. Period, full stop. They grudgingly do some scaffolded walkthroughs now and then, but they have zero love for enclosed rides. First thing they did when they bought Dorney was (some think conveniently) get rid of the bumper cars and log flume, open up the back of the musik express, and uncover every ride they could.
