Maybe like Hollywood Studios getting a new name (eventually), Epcot will get one too?? I welcome change.

People say you are messing with originals, blah blah. But yet those same people complain because there is nothing new.

Personally with what I have seen with the new Pirates in Shanghai, I would welcome them tearing down Pirates and rebuilding with the latest and greatest tech. Disney was all about Imagineering and pushing the limits. Why do we have to keep the old attractions? Why can't they be brought to the standards of others.

Look what they did to HyperSpace Mountain in Cali. We rode it in January and were completely blown away by adding new tech into an old attraction. But did TDO do it? Nope.

You have to spend money to make money.

Fracking replaced the Energy Pavilion. Lithium Ion batteries and cold fusion will replace fracking.

Without fracking though the transition would be economically questionable.

Same with Epcot's new plans. Ironic indeed.

I would imagine that they are keeping portions of the building for cost savings, same as 20k. If at least 2 walls remain, then it's "renovating", which cuts down on costs associated with permits and such. So I guess the new theme for Future World is going to be "Recycling World"

I for one welcome our new movie IP overlords.

Do you guys think they'll retheme The Land to include stuff from The Good Dinosaur?

Why didn't they retheme Soaring with stuff from Up and retheme something with stuff from Wall-E or make new rides for them?

Was it just that they weren't popular enough?

One of the reasons why they have to get rid of Ellen's Energy Adventure is to prevent celebrity burn-out. It won't be too long before they install the new Dory Speaks Whale pavilion at EPCOT.

Orrrrr how about put those movies in a park that celebrates the movies or maybe Magic Kingdom. But no lets put it in the park that doesn't even have a theme that fits movies like that. You have two other parks to use...USE THEM.

But the lost opportunity to sell merchandise from every new movie would be too terrible to bear. Must keep those quarterly numbers flowing along....

Yeah, nice quote. Pity you have no idea what Walt was talking about.

Let me try to clarify it for you. He was talking about INNOVATIVE, NEW, ORIGINAL, IMAGINATIVE IDEAS. Not jamming somebody else's dopey third-rate creation in a park where it doesn't belong. That's not "new" and it's got nothing to do with curiosity. It's just lazy, insipid, greedy and cynical. Everything Walt did NOT stand for.

Using that quote to justify anything that's put into a Disney park is plain clueless. It reveals that you're incapable of understanding what used to make Disney and its creations special. What set it apart. Here's another lesson: WDW is not just a bigger, more expensive Six Flags. Walt's parks used to take risks and try to be the best, and they weren't meant to be babysitters for dum-dums. So no, GOTG doesn't belong in Epcot and Muppets don't belong in Liberty Square. Have a nice day.
