Group T-shirts - Need ideas

Hi - We're doing the 3 day Cruise in November with a total of 15 people (9 adults and 6 kids ages 3-6). I want to make a t-shirt for everyone (all the same of course) and am looking for ideas - nothing elaborate, in reality I'll probably only get everyone to wear them once for a good group photo, but I don't want it to be too corny that no one will want to wear them at all. Any suggestions on method (iron on??), color (leaning towards a "nautical" blue or a nice bright Disney yellow) and design would be great! I'd love to hear what others have done - post pictures if you have them too!
:) :)

If you get some nice t-shirt transfers, they would work out nicely. Then you can put whatever you want on them. The shirts at Zazzle are gorgeous but if you have someone in the family named, say, Sedequajalaila*, that name won't be on the list and she wouldn't have a personalized shirt.

*My mom used to be a labour & delivery nurse, and she actually had a patient name her daughter this. I'm not sure on the spelling, but it is pronounced Seh-dee-qua-juh-lay-luh. It's a pretty name, but yikes on the spelling.

We have gone the shirt route with my extended family and it is hardly worth it for the griping and groaning we've gotten from a few of them. You should probably determine what about the matching shirts is so appealing to you and then let that give you some direction Maybe you really want them for the photo, or you'd like for everyone to have a nice souvenier, or you'd like for other people to be able to recognize your group members.

Once you've figured out what's most important to you, here are some suggestions:

1) If you don't mind shelling out some $$ Lands End can embroider your design on their shirts. Then everyone will at least have a nice shirt.

2) If you are ironing on a design, let everyone pick their pastel color. It won't be quite so "matchy" but still coordinates nicely.

3) Taking that idea a little further, you could let everyone iron their design on whatever article of clothing suits them - maybe a hat, a tank top, a denim shirt, whatever. Again, everyone gets a little choice and you don't look like the mickey mouse club

4) Apart from logos, in our family we have had the most success (and even that wasn't total success) by requesting a color scheme for photos. One year we had everyone in denim, black, white, and red. One year it was denim, khaki, white, and red.

5) If your heart is set on all matching tee's, then I say spend as little as you can for the shirts and make a cute design to iron on. You're right, most people will only wear them once.

6) Some people really don't like their names on their shirts and it's considered a safety issue with children. (theoretically, strangers can lure them away because they know their names)

7) My niece had shirts made for our family for an Alzheimer's walk, and she inivited everyone to submit and vote on team names. Then she worked the chosen name into the design. That gave everyone a bit of ownership and some of us still wear our shirts often.

8) Be sure you buy the right size and style that is comfortable and flattering. Most of the shirts I've shed ASAP were too tight or too heavy in the heat.

Keep us posted on what you decide!

Sounds like the perfect Snow White, and the 14 Dwarfs family to me!!!

Get some plain t-shirts, iron on letters for the names, and maybe even some iron on decals of the actual characters if you can find them, then have fun deciding who gets to wear the Grumpy and Dopey shirts!!!

We had a group of eight on a trip last year and I just went to the local Disney Store and managed to find 8 of the very same shirt in the right sizes we needed for our gang, so you could try that too if you are like me and not the "crafty" type!

How about shirts printed with WDWMAGIC.COM!:D Just kidding. My wife and I have shirts for Disney visits since now that we have our 1st child. Mine has DISNEY DAD, hers is DISNEY MOM. The lettering is orange on mine for Goofy, hers is green for Tinkerbell. And the lettering is done in lettering font called Waltograph. Which is commonly referred as Disney script.I will post pics tonight so you can see them.:D

I've used the iron-on transfer printer paper to make t-shirts for myself. They come out pretty nicely. You make the design on your computer, print it out, and iron it on. =)
