Grocery delivery...

Anyone have a grocer they have used to have groceries delivered to their WDW hotel?

We are spending a copy of days with family before and after our WDW trip. I know they would be happy to take us to the store to pick up some snacks (beer for the adults :)) and things for when we are at the hotel but then I would have to cart them with me to the hotel and drop it off when we check in, which we will be doing early since family with be dropping us off to start our trip.

Just think it might be easier to have it delivered after we check in even thought it me be more money. Any do something similar to this?

I know of a few. After WDW takes an arm and leg for the trip, the grocery delivery places will take the other 2. Baggage service will store the groceries, even those that need to be refrigerated. I would just make the run while you have access to a vehicle and save $50 on the beer alone.

I've never done that. For me, if I was in your situation I'd just do the shopping myself. Doesn't seem like it would be that much of a hassle to bring your items up to the room yourself, unless you are planning to get a huge amount. You would also be able to use a luggage cart to move your stuff up to the room. I would consider it a cost vs. convenience question. Is it worth whatever the delivery would cost, to save a little bit of time that shopping yourself would take.
Also consider, you would almost certainly have to be at the room to receive your order. That might conflict with your plans for the parks.

Right but we'll check-in (dropping off luggage) early the first day 7 am so I don't think we'll be allowed to our room. I guess I could call the night before but I don't anticipate it.

Fair enough then.
When I go in December, I'll be checking in bright and early on my arrival day as well. Though I'll just have a suitcase and my carry on to leave at bell services.

I use the Garden Grocer. It is what it is I have no vechile and I can't carry 2 cases of water with me. For us the convenience of the drop off is worth it to us. We also have a one year old so instead of lugging diapers and wipes with us we order them. It is cheaper for us bc of baggage costs on airlines. Between the amount we drink during the day and the few beers he have in the evening it is still cheaper than paying disney prices!
You don't have to be at your room to receive your order. They deliver it to the bell hop station and leave a mesage in your room. If you order alcohol you have to fax them a copy of your drivers license.

i have used both garden grocer and "strollers and groceries". i have been happy with both. Last time i went i used strollers and groceries because i did indeed need both. free delivery if you need both. delivery fee is the same 14.00 as garden grocer otherwise. if you are ordering groceries, i would check the comparative prices of a few of the things that you want to see whose prices for what you want are cheaper.
i will say, i confused their computer when i went because i arrived at contemporary and had a stroller dropped off there three days before moving to fort wilderness and ordering the groceries delivered there. apparently that totally freaked their computer out, and it put the contemporary on both orders.
the reason i liked this company so much was that when i called and told them that i had no groceries, they quickly figured this out, and the guy at the place said that he wouldn't even wait for his driver to return. he left the place himself, and i'm not exaggerating, he was knocking on my door with my food in 15 minutes. he also showed me what the computer did and said he would make sure the computer glitch got fixed.
what i liked about this, and why i relate the story is.....a mistake can happen any time, making it right, and that fast, buys customer loyalty! i will use them again.
both are reliable and reputable, and more expensive than a regular grocery store, but only a little, and convenience matters to me at Disney, as apparently it does to you.

Found this on mousesavers.com: "If you won’t have a car while on vacation — or you just don’t want to spend your vacation in the supermarket — there is a company called WeGoShop in the Orlando area that will do your shopping for you and deliver the groceries to your hotel. I have had positive reader reports about it, but have not used it myself. If you plan to buy a lot of groceries during your stay, using this shopping service may save you money compared with buying food from your hotel’s convenience store. However, WeGoShop charges a substantial shopping fee and you’re expected to tip the “personal shopper,” so you’ll have to buy quite a few groceries to make it worthwhile."

We've used Garden Grocer every time we fly there. Never had an issue with them. Honestly we really just use it to get alcohol, water, a few snacks and diapers when our daughter still used them. Now that we don't need the diapers we'll have to increase our snack purchase to make it to the minimum. That being said if I had a car I'd shop for myself.
