The Haunted Mansion have the busts of the "Grim Grinning Ghosts!! Here is my dilemma, My nieghbor who lives in South Florida...has a bust that he says is WD that he got a garage sale it is white and very very heavy... It looks like one of the busts in the HM attraction! It is Signed G pilotti 1982.. I'm almost 100% sure this came from the HM in WDW. I think he has something very valuable here...... Here are the pix...

the busts on HM have no facial details .. those are projected on .. so in plain sunlight a HM bust is quite unspectacular (to the unknown spectator)

That is correct.
They are projections, that is how it apears that they are "singing".:)

That's not from HM. Even if it wasn't a singing bust I would have noticed it elsewhere. But here is what the singing busts look like without the projections:

That doesn't look like Walt to me . . . maybe Thurl Ravenscroft. . . anybody else have an idea?

NOTE: Just did a quick Google search - now I'm not so sure about it being Thurl.

There is a bust garden at MGM (in front of the old Superstar Television building). It could be from there, assuming that the 82 is not the year the bust was made (maybe it refers to something else?), knowing that MGM opened in '89.

Looks kinda like Walter Cronkite to me...

Edit: Actually, I'm even more sure. Looks like a larger sized bust of the type they have in the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences courtyard at the Studios... ANyone want to go take a look at what Cronkite's statue looks like?

Could this be an original sculpture used to create a mold for one of the busts similar to those used in the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences courtyard at the Studios?

I am pretty sure this is not Walt and it would not surprise me if it had no connection to WDW whatsoever.

DS is 3. He can't read yet, but while I was looking at this thread, he saw the picture and said "That's from grim grinning ghosts." Hope this helps.:ROFLOL::lol:
