Ready for great news I just found out tonight while having dinner with some of my friends at Disney????

EDIT: Rumor From That Dinner has it the following is ture:

First of all the 100 acres of Garbage... opps I mean woods, will only be a tiny section of the former 20k location, sometime close to the end of the upcoming 50th celebration we hear more about an E-Ride going next to the Woods. And yes it will be a dark ride. Also look for an announcement at that same time for yes, believe it or not another e-ride* but this one in adventure land.

Second moving onto AK. A huge new project which I can not go into detail about will be announced 2 months before the opening of EE. Sorry but I can not say at this time, what this is, but believe me you all will love it.

As far as MGM goes, look for Indiana Jones to be gone some time soon, and replaced with a new ride, and depending on the success of the up coming Muppet's Wizard of Oz movie, look for an expansion in the Muppet area.

And lastly EPCOT... let's just say lots in store for their 25th aniversy... new rides, re-furbed things and new shows....

now for the * you have seen while reading this. The one project by Pooh's Woods is a Green light and will be built for sure, as far as the second e-ride to be built in Adventure land, all I can say is hope that EE is a HUGE success, because if they get the numbers they're looking for they will green light that project as well. And lastly let me apolize for not going into more detail on most of the things I wrote about, but I promised I wouldn't let the cat of the bag, so being someone who holds a promise, I will keep my word to my friends. And remember the people at Disney do know about this site and do keep an eye on it.....

Fantabulous, but "When you've been in the system as long as I have, you've heard many grand ideas, many grand plans to eliminate the MCP..."

Forgive the skeptecisim, I'd love some of these to be true, but how do your reconcile your sources with the public announcement that Eisner want's to cut park spending by, I believe, 400 million in the next budget?

This is very interesting - thanks for posting, and a relativley new welcome to the boards.

Obviously, not going into more detail than you can, can you tell us where this info is from? No names or departments of course, but a general idea of its authenticity (there are a LOT of rumours posted here - normally overheard from a second cousin who heard it from a friend of a friend who knows someone who works near WDI) - don`t be offended, its not you may not be believed, but with such an amazing piece of news like this its almost too good to be true!

They never said, "Eisner wants to cut park spending." What they said was that spending would be reduced. This does not mean that we will see any reduction in new attraction construction. As I have said before park spending has been very high lately. In the past few years they have had numerous parks and resorts under construction: AK, DCA, HKDL, WDSP, AKL, SS, Pop, GC, DTD Anaheim, etc. With new park and resort construction down, even a reduction in total spending, will still mean more for new attraction construction.

Well, I guess I can't really comment on the awesome-ness of this news yet, since we don't really have any confirmation of it. If it's all true - then yes - awesome :sohappy:

I just hope this isn't a typical "just joined the boards and need to look big and bad so I'll make up stuff that might possibly come true and make me look like a stud later" thing. Unless this luncheon was with someone in WDI, and not just some CMs, I'll be less skeptical

Welcome to the boards nonetheless!

*GASP* Getting rid of MGM's Indy? NEVER! THEY CAN'T! I WON'T LET THEM!
I also have an inside source at Disney...told me about the Lights, Motors, Action! Stunt Show several months before it was officially announced...and I haven't heard ANYTHING about any of this, but then again, he doesn't fill me in on every little detail, so you're probably right about all this. I hope those E-Rides are good enough to justify Indy being gone...

Sure thing, I should have explained that better at first... I am close friends with a couple of the "higher decision makers" for the Parks... now how and why am I friends with them? Well I have been in the travel business for over 30 years and have made lots of business friends through out that time including some very powerful people at Disney, along with other CEOs and other excutives of major companies such as McDonald's, Coke, Sony, and so on... Some people I am closer with and learn some inside info years before the rest of the World does, how come? Because they offen come to me for suggestions and thoughts on their upcoming ideas. And they know they can trust me not to spill the beans. Which is why I tried not to give away too much in this post. And As far as the inside info in concerened, it's not just Disney stuff I know, but since this is a Disney Site and I love nothing more then Disney I choose to pass along as much info as I could to my fellow Disney Lovers.

You are correct about the term Blue Sky. I work with a lot of people in the Film business and I am just used to the term green light and I wasn't thinking when I typed that part out.

I think I know what the Adventureland E-ticket is...they've been holding on to that idea since they destroyed 20k and it also almost got made as a counter-attack to Universal in case IOA would be a serious problem for them. Heck they even made visibility test for the ride building.....I'm not gonna say what ride it is since I might jinx the chances ...hopefully 3rd time's the charm

I'm a bit confused. How could you have worked for the travel industry for 30 years if your birthday is listed at 1980 in your profile?

Unless you stretched the truth about that ...

If you have indeed worked for the travel industry for that long and knew so many important people, you should know what a complete sentence is and proper capitalization. Sorry if this seems harsh, but I'm just calling what I see and what I know.

Blue Sky is the Brainstorming process used by the Imagineers, I'm pretty sure. Green light just means that its for sure or that it will definatly happen.
