Great Movie Ride - Tables in Wonderland Dinner

Awesome! Was dinner inside the attraction? If so, which scene?

It's thru a bunch of the scenes. The meal progresses thru the scenes. If I'm not mistaken, dessert is in Oz. It's a TiW dining event. I paid for 6 of us to do it back in January and it totaled a bit over $900. Didn't end up doing the dinner (long story...the most un-magical experience I have ever had at WDW...get all hot under the collar even thinking about it) and got my $$ refunded.

Glad the OP go to do it and enjoyed it. Hopefully the issues they had are resolved now after what we went thru.

They did it in January for the TiW people. Make sure you dress up or you may be asked to leave.

I wore shorts and a polo shirt. No issues at all and other guests were dressed either the same way or in jeans. Since I didn't want to spend $700 for the entire family, I opted to go solo.

Then the problem was addressed! Now I feel better about the total crappola experience we had. You should read it. It was bad.

From what you wrote, it doesn't sound like anyone made a direct comment about your clothes. It sounds like you inferred this from the host making a comment that the event was for ticketed guests only and not knowing you already checked in. Out of curiosity, did someone make a direct comment to you?

Last night, there were at least two families with younger children.

Yes, they did at least a couple times. Once I know of when the lady first approached me after I told her that we were paying guests for the experience she made mention that we didn't "look" like participants as she was leaning over whatever she was holding in her arms looking me up & down. Then when we were talking with Nicole she made mention of it as well. The whole thing was just a disaster. I don't think any of them meant to come off the way they did. If people weren't dressed to the 9's and there were families with children there this go around then I'd say they've toned it down so this sort of thing doesn't happen again and guests don't feel the way we did. Again, nothing was said about dress suggestions during the phone call or I'd have likely declined so the next person on the request list for the tickets could have the experience. We were already on the way to the airport when I got the call and hadn't brought anything nicer than what we wore to Jiko (jeans & polos or a sweater). I had given up on being lucky enough to get that phone call. I figured it was booked up before I emailed in my request to attend. I've been in situations before where I felt a little awkward but realized it was just me being paranoid. This was completely different. And horrible. I know it wasn't just me misinterpreting what was said or what happened. When we finally spoke up to one another on the way in we all were on the same page. For my mother-in-law to get the same impression/feeling I did is really saying something because it's just not her nature to think in any direction other than positive.

I'm really relieved that the experience was as wonderful for you as it was without having to go thru the hurt and heartbreak that I did. We canceled our Lunch w/an Imagineer for that and really were looking forward to it in a big way. I was particularly interested because that venue/experience had been my "dream" reception venue for a vow renewal for us. Needless to say, not anymore.

The pictures were great!

sweetpee-sorry about your experience. It's never fun to be made to feel uncomfortable. Did you write letters and if you did what ever happened?

Got my refund & let it go at that. I thought they got the point at the time and it appears I was right which is all I would've wanted.
