Have to agree with the previous poster about buffet servers, they usually are clearing all the empty plates at your table. They should be tipped the same as you would tip a normal server IMO.

Tip at restaurants 15-20% (irrelevant of what type of restaurant). The only variable is quality of service.
Tip the bellhops/ anyone who helps carry my bags (note that I don't generally use DME)
Don't tip housekeeping (although I generally don't let them in the room).

I don't tip the bus drivers. Neither would I tip bus drivers anywhere in the world if they are just transporting me from place to place (it's different if they are helping with bags)

The size of your party makes a difference. If you have 6 or more, you have to tip 18% at all sit downs, reagulare or buffet. If your party is less then it is just suggested. Tip according to service. As for the rooms, I had a 2 bedroom villa with 7 people so I left 10-20 a night. For all they did it was worth it. I think you should leave tips daily as you may have different maid over course of stay. Never heard of anyone tipping bus driver (not that its a bad idea). Photopass photographs I wouldnt tip as I'm preatty sure they get a cut of the $14 per photo that you pay.

You definitely want to tip Mousekeeping daily. They will do all those special things for you with the towels and sometimes more. Tip depends on your room and party. If you leave a mess for them with a large family tip MORE. If you are neat and don't leave much mess, a couple dollars a day per person should be fine.

The general rule for buffets is 10%, but like many folks here, I tip the same as I would for regular service, as long as my waiter/waitress provides good service. And especially at Boma, our waitress was teriffic and knowledgable.

I never tip bus drivers. And it's not expected.

Photopass folks don't usually get tips as far as I know, and since they generally grab you and take a fast photo I don't tip them. BUT, some of them are incredibly helpful and will take multiple pictures of you the way ou want and make sure you get a good one. In that case, it sure wouldn't hurt to slide them a tip.

My thinking is generally that some people are getting paid a proper salary to provide excellent service. Some people are paid a low salary with the idea that if they provide better service they'll get a tip.

If someone goes out of their way to help me who is clearly a low paid employee I will tip them.

But you should always tip what you feel is fair.

Waitstaff - 10-20% depending service regardless of restuarant type.
Mousekeeping - $5 per day. You'd be surprised how many extra soaps and shampoos you will get, plus alot of towel animals.
Bus Drivers - never really thought about it.
Photopass - never really thought about it.
Luggage service - $2 per bag.
Quicksilver - $20 each way.
Taxis - a couple of bucks, ususally just enough to get to a nice round number.

I would be careful, most Disney cast members are not permitted to accept tips, and I'm fairly certain that the rule includes bus drivers and Photopass CMs. If a CM refuses a tip, please don't insist upon it, accepting a tip if you are not allowed is a serious company offense.

EDIT: Wait staff at table service/buffet restaurants, bellhops (with the exception of those at Tower of Terror), and other cast are allowed to accept tips, as it is an industry standard for those positions.

I have a VERY simple rule for Restaurants, be it Buffet or Table Service.

If my my server walks past my table more than twice without noticing that my soda glass is empty then they can forget a tip... OK, some might say that this is harsh, but it has always served me well.

99% of the time, if they can get that little thing right then everthing else they do is normally spot on as well.

I always tip well. Minimum £10, or 15-25%(depending on quality of service), which ever is greater, so I don't feel bad about my little rule of thumb.

As for buses & photographers. Never have tipped them.

Disney trip or not I always tip:

Housekeeping - 1.00 to 1.50, per person, per day
Drivers/Bag Handlers - 1.00 - 2.00 per bag

How do you tip mousekeeping as far as leaving the money goes? Do you just leave cash somewhere with a note? Also, do you leave it every day? Or all at once?

I receive Disney DVD club offers in the mail with a sheet of character stickers inside. I put one or two stickers on the outside of an envelope marked, "Thank you, Mousekeeping" and leave it someplace obvious (bathroom vanity, bedside table, etc).

You should tip daily inside of at the end of your stay. What if the same staff cleaned your room for the first 6 days of your stay and when you checked out on the 7th day, new staff got the whole weeks worth of tips for cleaning once?
