I'm planning my next trip for April, and I want to take some of my family, along with some of my wife's family. There will be more than 8 of us, and I was wondering about Grand Gatherings. The only thing I know about GG is your party has to consist of 8 or more people, but what is the whole deal with it? Like are there any discounts, any special treatment, ect...? I tried doing a search on it, and I didn't really get any solid info on them. Can someone please help me out here? Thanks in advance

I'm sure one of the KK reps know more than us civvies would about Grand Gatherings.

The one thing I would suggest/suspect is that when a GG is being set up, a greater effort is made to make sure large parties are seated together at restaurants and get them on ridea and attractions all at the same time when possible.

aside from the pins which are more like buttons not the trading pins, its not a whole lot. You are guaranteed that rooms will be together at your resort. There are other options, special dining options like Tony's Breakfast is ONLY available for GG's and count as one dining credit on the dining plans. The other options are much more costly...up to about $60 per adult in addition to park admission.

Pam at KK is handling our 3rd GG and its a doozey! 36 people, a gagillion changes and she still got it all right!

Our family of 13 is going the end of October beginning of November. We actually went through the GG line. Somebody will have to be the main planner of the trip. Disney will actually give you a reservation number for the whole group and then a sperate one for each room reservation. Everytime that my sister or I have called they have been extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They will put all of you dinner ressies together for you and can print it out when you get there. If you didn't want to go through Disney I'm sure KK would help you out just as well if maybe not better. I will say agian though the castmembers that work the
GG telephone line are really good!!!!:sohappy:

We did the GG and we got lanyards with pins and our party were in rooms next to each other. We did the boatride and watched wishes, It was a lot of fun. Before the boat left we had snacks with Captain Hook and Mr. Smee, and when we returned Peter Pan was waiting on the dock. It really was a lot of fun, and well worth it. Have Fun!!!

When you book a Grand Gathering you must have at least 8 people in your party, (not counting children under age 3). Disney will do it's best to make sure your rooms are all together if you are staying at the same resort.
With your dining, they will also do their best to make sure you are all seated together.
They also offer you quite a few special magical gatherings which I will list below that are only available to Grand Gathering guests. These can be booked up to 180 days in advance and up to 3 days prior.

I currently have well over 30 GG's under my belt. It can be a rather large undertaking and rather stressful for the person who is trying to get it all together. I can take a lot of that stress out of it and make it a LOT more manageable. Also if a discount comes out and your hotel is included in the discount and I can get it, you better believe I will be on the phone with Disney getting it.
