You were the one complaining that someone suggested replacing one cartoon overlay with, uh, another cartoon overlay (which is actually slightly more fitting) and then accused them of not having the attention span for classic EPCOT when that ship had already sailed for this particular attraction ages ago. I realize the original post was simply a vehicle for your daily airing of Bob-related grievances, but if anyone didn't really have much of a point here, it was you. 🤷‍♂️
Sure…why the hell not?

Why not go ahead and put fake princess lands in country pavilions while we’re at it?

They built Journey of Water and are adding a carousel to DAK. Gave us Country Bear Musical Jamboree.

And the beloved Beauty and the Beast Sing-Along with no wait time!

And the second cars ride. And the Monsters show if that counts

Alien saucers? DAK carousel

Country Bears was an overlay and the other shows mention use existing theater space.

They do flat rides like the Tangled spinner at WDSP, but they don't do c-ticket boat and dark rides like Gran Fiesta

The last time they did was Navi River Journey...and everyone complained it's too short and underwhelming.

And we wonder why they don’t build them. They’re very expensive yet we complain. So, flat rides and shows, it is.

I like Gran Fiesta Tour, but also realize it's not a particularly great ride, but also don't expect them to replace it with anything better. It's one of the rare moments of actually attempting to compromise on the theme, they're not doing that again.

Also, dear god, don't mess with the beautiful Mexico pavilion! That's almost replacing Tom Sawyer Island levels of "come on, we don't really NEED our park to look nice, right?".

Journey of Water is a true family plus in the spirit of old Disney. The fountains were a total throwback to when we played as kids at the imagination ones. I missed that one along with Navi River. Buy the Bears aren’t an addition. No comment about the sing-a-long, our kids are princess aged and we still won’t go near it 🤣

People kinda need to let go of the Coco copium. If the retheme meme was ever going to happen they would have announced it the same time they announced it's coming to DCA as a new construction.

Ultimately they looked into it a half-decade ago, and the short answer is the unique situation of its location and the property attached means the only way it could increase revenue is Lightning Lane, and it's actually a smarter financial investment to just build a new Coco addition entirely instead of having to adjust Mexico and hoping LL pays it off. Which is why they are doing just that at DCA, and maybe eventually something over here which won't be a clone as they want reason to visit both coasts.

There is no reasoning to change it here outside an oddly specific obsession that this film has to be in this pavilion. The ride already maxes out all metrics it needs to entirely. It isn't changing.

It’s the fan’s fault again!

Navi feels like one third of a ride. That’s not just length, though. You can make a short boat ride, you can make a plotless but atmospheric boat ride, you can make a boat ride with only three big scenes, you can make a boat ride with one AA, but you can’t do all those things without creating a boat ride that seems absurdly short and incomplete.

I think if the Navi ride had some small thrills...and I mean small like the Pirate's drop or less....and several, it might feel more fun... it doesn't need a big drop...just some things to move it along... and why did they miss the opportunity for a giant show room featuring the Tree Of Souls.... that should have been the big WOW finale... The Shaman animatronic is great... but if she was in front of the Tree Of Souls with it's pulsing bioluminescent branches and roots in a big finale showroom, the ride might feel more complete... and this was also another film inspired location that was not from the film or a recognizable place or thing... Much like their SWGE....and soon to be Carsland Autoparts National Parks area... They keep building these areas that are not from the source material... which do not live up to the hoped-for experience... they feel incomplete.... because they are missing the real connection we had to the characters and planet in the first place...

My thought is this means a transformation into the new ride is up in the air or far away. I mean why bother? This just makes me more annoyed that my last rides on splash mountain were full of broken elements and dim lighting. (couldn't even see B'rer Roadrunner)

Off Topic for a sec: Isn't the new one they are planning to make going to have a dangerous part? That's what they said right? I wonder if it's a drop?
If not it would be the opposite of Splash Bayou Adventure, a drop ride with no drama or conflict (or plot) vs a non drop ride with lots of drama

(tbh there is more drama in Livin' with the Land than TBA)

"As a courtesy, please do not throw coins into the water, as it can damage the ride and cause refurbs to extend more than 4 days. However, dropping larger denominations of US currency into the water is acceptable and preferred.

Sincerely,

Bob Iger
Josh D'Amaro
Jeff Vahle"

Maybe that's what the expansion pads were for? 🤷‍♂️ I'm sure I and many others around here would argue that EPCOT Center was built with a great deal of foresight. But even the people who designed EPCOT Center couldn't have foreseen what the company has become in the past 2 decades, let alone the decisions made a scant dozen years into its existence.
It all started with a purple dragon....and some flavorgrapes

I know they won't do it but if they replaced or updated the screens of this ride with either new AA or the projection mapping from Runaway Railway plus better timing of them my enjoyment of this ride would go up by a lot.

Also after scrolling up I always viewed Navi River as the Ying (the peace) and Flight as the Yang (the action). And think the new Avatar ride for the new land will be both since it's only one ride. I also believe that TBA wasn't so much they weren't allowed to be scary, rather the villain of the film died in the film and they didn't want to deal with the consterversy around voodoo given how the ride they we're rethemeing was rethemed because it was constroversail. And without any clear villain or scary thing they said know what, let's just make this a party ride like Toy Story Mania or Soarin. Also in response to COCO, they could easily retheme it to COCO it's just there's no way to do so without completely redoing how the load unload works and would probably need to build a new queue process which is a lot of money for a ride that is still not the worst in the park (here's looking at you Figment) bring back dream finder.
