While I agree with you the problem is that the pavilion has trouble handling the lines the ride gets now so if you retheme it to anything remotely interesting some serious capacity issues arise.
Yes, I've heard that argument as well. And I think it is entirely reasonable. I just think the ride is kind of lame.

I think they could figure out the queue and exit problems if they actually built a decent attraction... They also have the often shuttered Odyssey next door which could be added into the footprint...it is not serving much of a purpose these days...

plus the tequila bar in there doesn't help with the hordes of people, how all that meets fire code I would love to know, its way too many.
A serious reworking of the pavilion would be needed. Instead of them doing it right, I could see them converting most of that front museum room into queue space, having the queue take up one side of the ramp into the main room and then maybe snaking through the gift shop on the left to then have a switchback or two in the main courtyard area before joining up to the existing switchback area... then having some convoluted path from the exit to get over or under that existing queue.

Isn't that still a cast food location on the other side?

Not to mention, home to the first aid center in the park which I'm unfortunately, familiar with.

Could a queue "playground" work similar to what they did for Dumbo the Flying Elephant? Rip out shopping space to make it a holding area?

Unless they were ready to turn the entire courtyard into that, there's not enough shopping space to rip out...

I'm sure people eating at San Angel Inn would treasure that ambiance but still feels like the pavilion would be losing a lot of it's charm if the bulk of the space was turned into something like that.

which isn't to say that space couldn't be added but it would cost money so I don't really have an opinion on this until I know how much they plan to charge for the ILL on it.

I also wonder if now any new Coco attraction is more likely to be a future expansion at Tropical Americas than at Mexico Pavilion or at MK as was rumored.
MK would be my bet. But that means it wont happen anytime soon. I think Shanghai and Paris will get Coco before DW.

Coco would actually have some Mexican cultural significance....which Three Caballeros does not...
THe parking alley on the left side of the pavilion building appears to have a lot of space....Perhaps the attraction queue could begin outside the pyramid out there on one side or other of the existing show building ... for the bulk of the queue and then the last portion enter the main building.... I mean I am sure there are reasons why this could not work, but if they wanted to make it work, they could....and it would be a great addition to the park...that still needs more attractions.....

If they are going to demo Odyssey, I'd rather they keep Gran Fiesta and just build a new pavilion of some sort. Location is a bit awkward since its neither in World Showcase nor (really) in whatever area of Future World Test Track is in. World Tire?
