Ok how not fair is this?! I was there two years ago and I don't remember having such good people performing. I don't remember a foam dance party (don't really care for that one though just found it weird). We just went around MK, rode the rides and that's about it. Can't complain though rides were good enough for me I already got my dancing over with at Pleasure Island. Oh and we got that complimentary photo which I recommend for all you seniors. We went on a Friday and we got the pics that very next Monday. Congrats seniors and enjoy yourselves!!

Oh yes and they do strictly enforce the dress code. My friend was caught showing her midriff and was sent to a table with all the USED clothes. I emphasize used because some of the shirts had nasty stains, so my friend just skipped the table and bought herself a t-shirt. She was able to slip by with the t-shirt but by the time we got to Snow White's Scary Adventures some college-aged kid informed her (rather rudely I might add) that she couldn't wear her t-shirt over her clothes. It was our last ride of the night so it didn't much matter, we left right after to the bus.

If Grad Nites are losing popularity to Universal, maybe Disney should consider slackening the dress code to attract more people? I understand them not allowing offensive clothes, but I'm not sure why you have to dress up for riding Splash Mountain...wouldn't that be kinda uncomfortable? I know I wouldn't like a wet dress shirt and khakis...

What are the Geek labs OrlPassholder? Just curious

Chaperones?? You've got to be kidding me. Night of Joy you don't have to have chaperones at all. What's the deal? I wanna go sounds interesting with all the foam baths.

And also a dress code? That's stupid...if you ask me. People should be allowed to wear what they want. Are you sure that the dress code has something to do with the schools not allowing it? Or is it Disney? Thanks!

I don't know what you perceive about chaperones, but when they talk about chaperones for something like Grad Nite, you practically see them only on the bus, which for me it's fine. Kids our age can't have total freedom, because it turns into chaos and a few can ruin it for everyone. When I went, I saw my teachers on the bus and that's it because at Pleasure Island they walked into the club we were in like once just to observe and at MK they have their headquarters which they can be in if they want while it's every senior for themselves. This isn't elementary school where the teachers supervised us the entire time.

Hey! Grad Nite is the best time ever! I went last year and it is soooooooo much fun! Being there that late at night makes you feel special and having some kind of privelage. But I wish I had those musical guests! Mine were awful last year! And this fire, rock climbing and fortune teller....not fair I wish I had that! And yes they severly enforce the clothes codes. My friend Jen and I took off our sandals because they hurt so bad from walking. We literally went 20 feet and a police officer came up to us and before he could say a word we dropped the shoes and put them on and he said don't let me see you with those off again. So that kinda stunk! But it's ok it was worth it! Hehehe...oh yes and falling asleep in the Disney parking lot waiting for our bus was quite funny as well. Try sleeping on gravel and tiny little rocks...But truly I am really jealous and all of you that are going are gonna have a BLAST! :sohappy:

Oh yes and the chaperone thing...I went on this trip for 4 days and I barely saw my chaperone and I went to Catholic school. Pretty much they go to have adults there and make sure no hanky panky goes on but thats about it. THey have fun too! My principal even talked about it in his speech at graduation. So be good on your trip! ALso be considerate to the families and other visitors. People would get so afraid when the saw 80, 17/18 year olds walk into a resturant or onto a plane. But everytime we left people would come up to my principal and chaplain and tell them how wonderful we were. My principal was so proud he said he felt llike a father of 80 kids...what a large family! So sreiously be considerate of those around you...it's their trip too!

funny, you reminded me of the shoe thing. My two friends were smart and wore nice sneakers, the suede ones or whatever. I wore real comfortable ones but by the end of the night ahh they hurt. My friend that got in trouble for the shirt bought herself flip flops in Adventureland and no one said anything. But man Disney made a bundle on those big yellow Mickey slippers because a lot of girls bought them that night. I got those the Christmas before :D so I know how comfortable those girls were compared to their pumps/stilettos, etc.

SO NOT FAIR!

We moved my senior year. ('87) I didn't get to go to grad night. All my friends went and called to tell me how much fun they had. I was so unhappy. That was the one night I was looking forward to my sr. year. More then graduation, more then the prom (which i didn't get to go to beacause I didn't really know anyone yet). Whaaaaaaa.
okay, I have vented, I will stop now.

OMG I feel so old! High school was over 10 years ago for me!

I wish my class could've gone to Grad Nite, but I lived in Michigan at the time. Instead after graduation we got this dorky party at a teen nightclub a half hour outside of town. It was fun, but I would rather have gone to WDW.

Damn, I wish that I could have gone to something like that when I left highschool (although graduation of that in England isn't anywhere near as big a thing as in the USA)
One day though, I want to go to the MK in full 3 piece Dress Suit, just to see what the reactions are  (with wdwswashbuckler because I know he'd be up for that too :D )

Probably because Disney wants the opportunity to take some "nice" Promo pics... but I think the dress code would add a better atmosphere to the event - to set it aside from just a normal visit to the park, to help make it feel a bit more special compared to every other day.

I always just figured they had the dress code b/c it's easier to see who is wearing something they shouldn't be wearing. If they allowed people to wear t-shirts, they'd have to have someone at the gates reading every t-shirt to see if it is offensive, which would get very tedious. If everyone has to wear a dress shirt, this isn't as much of a problem. Still, having to wear jeans in late April/early May, given the high temperatures over the next week (86 and 87º) would be a bit brutal during the start of the event...and there is nothing worse than wet jeans...well, few things.

I'm going to Grad Night on Saturday. It sounds like it'll be fun although I much prefer IOA's musical guests. I hope it's fun and it's not a bunch of rowdy schools cutting people in line and screaming like idiots. The kids going to GRAD BASH think it sucks because there's is shorter I believe while Grad Night goes on later in the night. I might be wrong but I think that's correct. Is anyone going on Saturday??

Boy has the dress code slacked off for grad nite. Back in 89, my grad nite, (boy i feel the arthritis setting in), the dress code required all guys to wear ties, dress shoes, and long sleeve shirts. No polo shirts, jeans, or sneakers. I had a good time but frankly i felt it was a bit overrated. By 200 a.m. we were exhausted especially after a 5 to 6 hour bus ride from Miami to Orlando ( it would have been faster by car). The best thing was that all the rides had no lines. I also remember some of the performers that year included samantha fox, information society, and drumroll please....new kids on the block. UGH!
