Adding to that analogy what if Master Yoda offered a FP for his lube service.

I find it odd that my "adult night" party ideas are part of this discussion.

You’re definition is incorrect. Crowding is not directly related to daily attendance, it is a relative term that describes density. A larger park with greater capacity will be less crowded than a smaller park with less capacity even if they have the same daily attendance.

Correct. The pound/square foot of human in MK is usually extraordinary.

I was wondering the exact same thing myself. It will give a better idea of potential impact with this new paid FP+ offering.

It's not a huge number...but it's the perfect demographic to test. How many times have we seen "GF CL MKview" or equivalent categories brought up by posters who absolutely seem to revel in overpaying for their disney trips? A lot. Perfect demographic.

In my experience (and I have plenty of it),concierge customers at wdw include a lot of napoleon complex/new money types.
Not all...but a factor.

Explains the overtop themeing of the Tangled bathrooms :cautious:

It's like how the extended grave queue originally opened up at Haunted Mansion as "optional" - who didn't see that coming, right? :banghead:

The rest of the park restrooms are going to need a whole lot of plusing before they start charging or we're going to have another Beast's Castile issue on our hands, though! ;)

Uhhh... have you all forgotten VIP Tours?

With a VIP Tour, you can buy your way to the front of the more popular, or, in some cases, any ride in WDW as if you had unlimited FPs.

Look into it. Been happening for years.

This is just a do-it-yourself form of getting to the front of the line as if you were on a VIP Tour.

This is different though since it's directly connected to FP+. This will be taking up many FP slots, which in turn will lead to higher stand-by wait times.

People on VIP tours aren't impacting the FP+ system.

There's no downside to this for disney:

1. Extra money
2. Demand for rooms (all before you know it once they eliminate values and moderates) to get access to pay fastpass
3. Increased prices for rooms due to deman...dvc prices as well...

Nothing to stop them...becuse the consumer is stupid once they enter the purple gates (which they May end up charging an epass fee to drive under)

Can they please just charge 100 a day for the ability to use fastpass and leave it at that? It would fix a ton of issues.

I would not say wait times for a given attraction and 'crowding' are the same thing.

Wait times are obviously manipulated by things such as number of cars, amount of FPs given, operating hours, etc.

Crowding is determined by the daily attendance, which is primarily controlled by ticket prices.

If he was discussing wait times by saying 'crowding', then he's correct. But I thought he was talking about the actual daily attendance (crowd).
Just to throw another spin on this - TouringPlans defines their crowd-level based on "the average posted wait time between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm."
