Got a call from Disney today

I call 'BS' on that!!! That may be the case with YOU, because your post shows you to be a caring, thoughtful individual. BUT, most people are just LAZY and ENTITLED, and IRRESPONSIBLE, and have NO HOME TRAINING. They would not let their OWN home get in that kind of state, but in public...well it is ok because (they think) "it is ALL ABOUT ME !!!"

I tend to give people the benefit of the doubt. And, even when they do make mistakes, I try to quickly forgive because I never know when it's going to be me making the mistake and looking for forgiveness.

Also, I feel like the majority of people who go to WDW are far from lazy and irresponsible. The amount of money and planning it takes to go to WDW makes me believe that the vast majority of people who are there are very hard-working and responsible people. But even the most hard-working and responsible people in society make mistakes sometimes. If we were all a little more understanding of each other, maybe we wouldn't spend some much time hating on ourselves and others when we do mess up???

I hate to say it, but I think the vast majority of people that behave poorly do so because they feel entitled to do so. After all, they have spent a fortune to get to WDW, so who cares if they throw down a dirty diaper? Disney ought to bow down to them for coming to their park!:devilish: That is the vibe I get. :depressed:

Totally agree with this and your previous post. Disney can try the best of us. Most people there are under slept and over stimulated but trying their best to be polite. Gather 50k people in the same circumstance and you sometimes have some negative results.

Awesome! So if I'm ever tired and cranky, it's cool that I leave trash anywhere I want. This changes the entire way I've led my life!

Once you have kids, you will do things you never thought were ok pre-kids not because you are rude, selfish, entitled, (insert choice word here) but rather simply to make it through the day. Come back in a few years and tell me that you've never done anything you feel ashamed to have done. Being at disney is no different except that there are 10-20,000 families there at the same time.

As a AP, I am amazed at how difficult it is to dine at Disney. With all the ways to make money at that place, you'd think that they'd make enough sit-down establishments for you to dine at. Instead you get a shuttered restaurant in Adventureland, Futureland, and EPCOT. It's craziness IMO. Lord knows they charge plenty for it!

This is the root of the problem. When a Disney vacation was reasonably priced for what you got, and great value for money, people were a lot more respectful.

Now you have to pay so much more than what it's worth, for such a lousier product, that people pretty much do feel they should be treated like kings for that sort of money, so are going to act a lot more entitled - because having spent $100 to get in the park instead of $50, they *are* entitled to more than they're currently getting!

I don't agree with you. I think what you get now at the parks is pretty darned great! I just came back from a vacation that I was really worried I wouldn't enjoy. So much on the forums about how bad the parks are, how rude the CMs are, I was stressed out!

I ended up having such a great time, I can't wait to go back! The parks were clean, the CMs were friendly, I was able to ride rides without long waits in line. Bus service was better than I could have imagined! I can't wait to return to WDW!!!

Pretty soon you will realize that what you see and experience is all just a figment of your imagination. The real condition is right here in print. It's on the internet, how can it be wrong.

Just a thought though... when you go is as important to the experience as where you go.

Next topic, I really pitty the person who doesn't do reservations and think their gonna get in with no wait or issues. This is nothing new, our first time to disney after a 10 hiatus, in 2003 , weren't told about making reservations for pop places to eat. When we were at the parks trying to get in to eat we were told needed reservations. Went to chef mickey and waited a wonderful 2 hrs to get a seat. After that trip we made those reservations soon as they were avail. In a nutshell, nothing can ever be perfect in everyway, especially when your have so many different kind of pepole there and the large amounts of pepole as well.

I have to disagree. Disney has created this mess. In the interest of moving as many people as they can through their "system" they have created a vacation of logistics. Part of my job is process mapping. I create and document process flows almost every day. Trust me, I know how to schedule, reserve, and expend resources - and it is the last thing I want to do when on vacation.

I don't expect to be able to walk up to a restaurant at peak times and be seated in 10 minutes. I also don't expect to have to be on the phone 180 days out from my vacation deciding where to eat for the entire trip. Same goes for fast pass. Disney has created a vary non-relaxing atmosphere when it comes to planning a vacation at WDW. Some people may be OK with that, but I am not. I choose to spend less dollars at WDW than I used to. When WDW asks my way, I tell them. Maybe they will change, and then I will start to spend more, or maybe they won't and I will continue to spend less and less.

The DDP is something Disney came up with to make vacations seem "easier" and "cheaper" - when, as we have seen, it does neither. People now have to plan out ADRs so they can maximize the value of their dining plan. They have to make sure they use all of their credits. The get confused trying to figure out what they can and cannot get with their snack credit. Simple solution - eliminate the DDP. What can you get? Whatever you want to pay for. If you don't happen to eat at a table service restaurant, guess what? You SAVED money that night. However Disney LOST money that night, so they are not going to get rid of the DDP, not when it makes them money - despite the decline in gust experience.

I also received a call from Meg Crofton's associate. I sent a letter to Robert Isner and Meg Crofton. I stated two issues we had on our trip to WDW in Oct. of this year. One issue was public drunkenness at Epcot. We saw people fist fighting and throwing up on Saturday evening. The other issue, was a woman on the Art of Animation bus, at 8:45 am going to Epcot commando style in dress and laughed about her display of public lewdness. I was appalled. All I received was standard excuses, why Disney won't enforce their rules about dress, and drunkenness. They said it was due to cultural changes in society. I feel Disney World is no place to take children. Especially, their hands off attitude.
