What kind of animal is Goofy? Is he a dog or something else?

Goofy is a dog. I have people asking me all the time what he is (I'm "Friends" with Goofy) and I try to let them know he's a dog. I've talked to other entertainment and greeters and I've heard many things but a common one is Man-Dog. I think this is stupid. Do you call Mickey a Man-Mouse? Donald a Man-Duck? There's never any question what they are. Goofy's a dog.

Pluto is, of course, a dog. Goofy is a Dog- like a dog but with the ability to speak and reason like a human.

It's a very interesting concept of animals and Animals. So Goofy would be an Animal and Pluto, for instance, would be an animal since he doesn't really talk.
