I am sad to report that the Kidcot stations at both The Land and The Seas will be closing as of tomorrow. However, the Kidcots in World Showcase will remain because they have a sponsor (Sharpie). Its kind of sad that these Kidcot stops will be going away because I know that they are very popular for both little kids and their parents.

I did notice that TT's was removed long before. Interesting in how they finally decided to remove them here in FW.

At least it's more popular in WS, including the masks. :D

This seems to be a good way to draw families with young children through WS. Kids otherwise may become bored with the lack of rides in WS are instead looking forward to getting to the Kidcot Station. Sad to hear the last FW stops are going.

Interesting. Future World KidCot was primarily staffed by Cast Members who were on "light duty," usually due to some sort of injury. Wonder where they'll be sent to now.

 Bye.

I admit, I enjoyed seeing these around. I did feel bad for the cm's with the bored expressions on their faces.

I am wholly against marketing things specifically at one age group over another. Epcot is a place for the whole family to have fun and learn together. Kids aren't doing either by playing with crayons all day.

We took our kids through World Showcase many times when they were small and they didn't have Kidcot then. The kids were fine with learning about the countries and going in and out of the stores, seeing the movies, riding the rides, etc.

I have to say that my daughter LOVES doing these, but as a parent, I find it boring and irritating to sit there watching her color!:hammer: Now, if they set it up as a craft station where the whole family could make something together, that might be different, but I'm not too sad to see the FW Kidcots go. And someone else mentioned the "bored-looking" CM's... absolutely true! My hubby and I commented on that last time we were there (at the Living Seas, or whatever it's called now). I wanted to walk over there and shake them to wake them up! :snore:

I agree with another post that having them around WS is not a terrible idea, because it is fun to watch my daughter going through the countries getting her mask stamped, etc. Especially in China (she is from there), where she can learn some Chinese from the CM's.

I really won't miss the Kidcots in FW, but the kids really enjoy the ones in world showcase. Mine ask alot of questions to the 'country' cast memebers, especially about their native lands. The cast members also, most times, write the name of the kids in their native language, which is pretty cool.

My kids this last trip, did not only the Kidcots (only the WS ones), but also the Kim Possible missions, which are actually pretty cool. Fun for the whole family.

Could the Kim Possable be taking over the role of getting kids to be more interested in World Showcase? Are the Kidcot funstops days numbered?

You actually broke through the top of the BS meter on this one. Shattered it, and I mean shattered it.

Oh, I hope not. Imagine the desire to do one mission, except thousands of others are also doing your mission. :hammer:

Kidcots are to entertain the picky toddler age group uninterested in the Notre Dame or the Torii Gate.

Though I occasionally pick one up to collect the symbols.... :lookaroun

Sorry to see the FW KidCot stops close, but If I had to choose between FW & WS stops, I would choose to keep the WS.
Same as well. Besides, I see more enthusiasm in WS CMs rather than those in FW. They always seem shifty and in a torpid state.

Is it true CMs in those stations are because of an injury and/or of some sort of reprimand?
