Good places to eat dinner at EPCOT?

On our next trip we want to have dinner at the park on the days we are at EPCOT. I was wondering if anyone would have any suggestions on a place that is not pricey. My DH wanted to try Germany. Our kids are picky eaters so I do not know if they would have anything the kids would eat. We have already eaten at the fast food eatery in China.

p.s. I am happy to be part of this site. I thought I was the only person addicted to WDW! :)

Welcome aboard!!

We like to eat at LeCellier (very hard to get into, but always try) and Restaurant Marrakesh (they have a kids menu with burgers), but the "regular" food is tasty and not exotic.

We really haven't eaten dinner anywhere else in EPCOT, but you could head out to the Boardwalk for dinner or to one of the EPCOT hotels, they are within walking distance.

My kids and my wife are picky eaters but we "rediscovered" Germany's Biergarten a couple years ago (prior to that I hadn't eaten there in 15 years). They all loved it and now we go every trip. There are lots of choices besides sausage, such as meatballs, chicken, pork roast, salmon, roasted potatoes, and there's mac and cheese and hot dogs at the kids buffet. Plus they have the fantastic pretzel bread as well, which is very similar to the pretzel bread at Le Cellier that everyone raves about.

For lunch the buffet is 19.99 and for dinner it's 28.99 which is pretty reasonable as far as WDW table-service locations. That price also includes non-alcoholic beverages.

Le Cellier is very good but also incredibly hard to get into. My personal favorite in the Rose and Crown in England. Not only is the food very good if you get a late reservation (7:30-8ish) they have a section for Illuminations viewing reserved for there patrons only.

Your experience at the biergarten was about exactly the same as my family's.
Did the Biergarten about 21 years before, didn't have kids back then yet, found it to be OK...not a buffet then. Went for the first time since just last year and thought it was great. A lot of choices, no one left hungry, especially our kids who are fussy eaters.

Welcome!

Also check out San Angel Inn at Mexico - great atmosphere and food.
Teppan Edo at Japan has great Hibachi.

I went to San Angel Inn a few months ago because I love Mexican food and I didn't like it at all, but I do agree as far as the atmosphere, it was great. The restaurant food was also expensive for what you get. And trust me, I'm not picky eater at all. I'll eat anywhere else.

I love the German restaurant and the atmostphere there is really neat!

Heading for the great escape.
Go where you want to eat, if the kids are picky, tough let them starve. Isnt Epcot supposed to be educational, so youll be teaching them a valuable life lesson. :goodnevil Eat whats in front of you or go hungry.

My hubby is a picky eater. I talked him into trying the Biergarten on our last trip, and he loved it! Then again, he's a big fan of sausage, so I knew he'd find something to eat. It was all delicious, and they have a nice show, too.

On all of our trips so far I have had to bring food from home to make PB+J sandwiches in the room each morning to bring to the parks for my one son. He has Autism and likes to eat the same thing everyday. If there are any parents of Autistic kids out there you know all too well about their routines! :) He's tiny - weighs 25 lbs less than his twin (their 8 yrs old). My other kids are flexible pretty much.

Thanks again for all the great suggestions! I have not eaten dinner at EPCOT for a LONG time - not since before we had the kids. When I was growing up my dad liked to eat at the expensive places in the parks. I am more economical about dinning.:)
