As a special introductory offer, available now through November 15 2017, you can purchase a special Walt Disney World Resort package for any time during the 2018 calendar year. The package consists of a 6-Night/7-Day room and ticket package at one of Disney's All-Star Resorts for $96 per person, per night. The resort package will be delivered in a special holiday gift box, and delivery is guaranteed before December 15 2017.

I pretend booked the same package for end of August and it worked out to be about $700 more expensive than this deal. Am I missing something? It seems like a great deal!

Depends on the small print, I would say. On the surface it sounds great, and it might be, but, I would want to read the fine print really carefully. Look for things like "no refund for cancellation at any time" or a minimum of 4 adults or more. That would be the thing that tells the story. Remember marketing is not famous for pointing out the negatives.

You're right! Turns out it's for a family of four!

And it is at one of the All Star resorts... not a resort I'd be looking to book even with a cost savings. Sometimes when I see advanced notices of promotions, I get excited until I read..... excluding x,y, and z resorts... the ones I would want to stay at.

This is why you never see any package deals for POP or AoA. While they are value hotels and now getting a skylift transportation service it has turned into Val-Mod resorts..

....nothing wrong with Pop or All Star if your priorities are:
Free park parking, feasible access to Disney buses ....oops I mean transports(compared to off site lodging), proximity to parks(compared to off site lodging) and Extra Magic Hours.

Sometimes that's all one can afford! I loved staying at Pop. I get that its no deluxe resort, but i didn't think it was too bad.
For sure, but, that doesn't mean that you cannot get a much better deal, bigger room, more comfort offsite for a lot less money. It is the way to stay onsite at a smaller price. The value is in the location and that is fine if that is what you are seeking.

Don't forget the ability to book FP+s 60 days out as opposed to 30 days out. That's really the only reason I stay on property anymore.

Very good point about coveted FP's.....I forgot about that on property stay perk.

At 30 days out most FP's are very securable---- even same day bookings. But there are some highly sought after ones even at 30 days out are still tough to grab most notably the two Pandora ones, Dwarf's Mine Train and Frozen.

Shameful! They never do deals for single people, demonstrating a clear bias against depressed loners like myself!
This is their typical way to present sample pricing for marketing an offer, and their typical family is a family of 4 with 2 adults, a junior (age 10-17) and a child (age 3-9). They usually present a 6 night 7 day offer, but that is a sample trip for marketing purposes - you can always call or go online to price different lengths of stay or different traveler makeup.

Is there any other reason to stay on property? Aside from theme, none of the Disney amenities are worth the $400-500 price tag for a Deluxe resort.

We only stay at POP! as we are a rope drop to kick me out of the park kind of family. THe room essentially is just to shower, sleep a couple hours and go back at it. I don't need to spend a ton of money on a place ill be like 5 hours a day. Too much world to see for us!

Oh come on! Of course having:

1)2 sinks in your room as opposed to 1.....got to have 2 in case there is a mad dash and 1 hour queue for sink use.
2)Indoor or hallway entry to room instead of entering from those undesirable and unsightly resort grounds.....those same grounds that you just got finished taking pictures of.
3) 2 queen beds instead of unsleepable doubles
4)access to one single amazing water slide that gets 20 feet off the ground snaking around for a 6 second ride(makes one rethink ever stepping foot again at Blizzard Beach or Typhoon) in your shared pool.
5)sit down restaurants that are available to anyone--- resort guest or no resort guest.

(there's more compelling reasons but you get the picture.)
........ is worth the 5 to 7 times more than a Pop or All Star.

Checked with my TA friend on this...does potentially save me a little for my Nov 2018 trip for 5 (2 Adults, 3 kids).

Room discounts are minimal off rack rate.

According to my TA, biggest downside is that, if you cancel you are ineligible for any of the other offers next year.

You receive a special limited magic band to give this christmas (2017). This is why.

So if you want to give it at Christmas for a gift.. then maybe package works for you. YMMV
