Golf Dress Attire Question

Ok, my friends and I are taking advantage of the price slice they have right now at the courses, and will be golfing at the Palm next week. I got the whole dress code is polo and Bermuda shorts deal, but my question is, what do they let slide? I have a nice pair of cargo shorts(no holes or any wear marks on them), and don't really feel like going out and buying new shorts to golf. Do you think those will suffice?

Thanks!

I think if you have cargo shorts and a polo shirt you should be fine. Some golf places are really odd about their dress code and proper golf etiquette, so maybe someone that has golfed there before can help you better.

I think the Bermuda shorts requirement might be related to fabric and length, rather than exact style. No jogging shorts, gym shorts (either too short, or the long, baggy type) short shorts on women, etc.

I've worn something similar to the shorts you're describing loads of times so I think you'll be fine! Have fun, the Palm should be in good shape for the PGA tour event coming in November.

Being a golfer, they are probably meaning a knee length short and a shirt with a collar and sleeves.. Most courses, regardless of where you are, will not let you on the course without the proper attire.. I wouldn't worry about getting a new wardrobe just to play.. If you wear what you are describing you should be just fine.. Have fun and play well!

While we are talking about golf, my family and I are leaving for The World the day after tomorrow :sohappy:! Anyway, my father in law wants to golf. How does one get to the golf courses when staying on site with no rental car. I have never seen or been on a bus that drops off at the golf courses. Anyone know how to travel to the golf courses?

Just let the luggage services people at the front know and they'll arrange a cab for you. My husband usually goes about 60 minutes before his tee time. He says it takes no time for the cab to get there at all. Your resort will give you a voucher which the tip is included on. Then of course same thing for the way back organized through the proshop. Have a great trip!!

Yes, cargo shorts and polo shirt are fine. That's what I wear when I play. As 'The Mom' stated-it is length of the shorts they look for. Palm and Magnolia are the ones that always watched the most. Eagle and Osprey (before they closed), as well as LBV and Bonnet Creek are not as strict and let some things slide.

Have fun!

Thanks all for the responses! I've wanted to play the courses at Disney for as long as I can remember, so since my friends and I graduate in May, we wanted to take advantage of the courses before we left Florida. I can't wait! Hopefully my game doesn't ruin it.

Thanks again!

And dont forget to post your scores. I got a 45 on the front. Oh, I dont count the back because its not fair how much you sweat and how heavy your shirt gets when you have been outside for 2+ hours.
