Help!!!
I have decided to join my sister and her family as well as my mother for 4 nights 8/22-26. I am traveling with my 18 month old. There will be a lot of time that I know it will just be me and my daughter.

Any advice about going (practically) solo with an 18 month old?? Thanks for all your help.

I want to go FOR my daughter... lol but I like that idea lol!

In that case, use her as a guide. WDW is a big place and it's hot. Buy a mini fan and put it on your stroller. You can take her on plenty of rides... now she won't remember any of it of course but you will. Our daughter liked the characters, when they approached from a distance at first. She had to get a good view of them and she liked them more. She didn't like the face characters at all at that age! So, even though I planned some Princess meals, she wanted nothing to do with them. Don't be disappointed, your daughter is only 18 months old and may not react the way you'd like each time. Hope this helps!

Thanks that is very helpful!!! I will definitely keep that in mind as well as keeping an open mind in general. I plan on doing Akershas unless there is another place where she can meet the Princesses?? Thanks for your help again! I appreciate it.

You are going to have a Magical Time...... we brought my granddaughter at 21 months and she had a wonderful time and consequently, so did we. You will be traveling at a slower pace so take your time and enjoy the little things. My granddaughter refused to ride in her stroller about 95% of the time so it was slow going. Don't worry about people who huff and puff because you are taking the park at your daughters speed. Let her take the lead and enjoy! just watch carefully because people whizz by to get from one FP to the other and most do not look where they are going. My granddaughter loved the characters who looked like big stuffed animals...Winnie the Pooh, Tigger etc. Anyone who looked like a person (Alice, The Mad Hatter, The Princesses etc) she stayed clear of. Not sure why but it was adorable. She loved Peter Pans Flight, Small World...most rides in Fantasy Land. Her favorite park was Animal Kingdom...spent 2 days there. Take the train ride to Rafiki's Planet Watch for the petting zoo. She will also meet Rafiki and Chip and Dale there. She also loved The Walt Disney Railroad. Remember...this is a trip for you to see her in Disney so take lots of pictures. They will be a priceless memory. She will probably not remember the trip but she will have fun pictures to look at when she gets older. :cat:

Yes, we all have to make sacrifices... I hear they make for good marriages. :p:p Maybe your mother & sister can child sit, so you can really go solo for a short while. After all, an 18 mo old is a lot of work, no better place to take a break and get some relaxation time than at Disney. :D:D:D

My favorite trips were when my daughter was around 12-18 months. Her eyes were just popping open every other ride or show. She loved IASW, POTC, HM (brave baby!), and all of the shows. Even though she doesn't remember specific memories we love to look at our photo book of her baby trips together. What's funny is all she has ever wanted to do is to ride ToT, even as a two year old. This past year at five, she was finally tall enough and rode it eight times! Enjoy your trip, keep your little one hydrated, use a ton of sunscreen, head for shade, nap when you guys need (Amelia napped in her stroller), and be sure to bring favorite snacks. I don't know if we would have made it without Grammy Sammies!

Great advice.... I was wondering if I should give it a go for HM... I don't want to creep her out, but I know she doesn't scare easily...
