Going WDW soon? Hide something, tell me where it is, and Ill find it!

I'd love to do this...but I must admit I need direction. Give me more rules and specific guidance (pretend I'm 4) and I'll do my best. We arrive in the world on 9/23, we're at POFQ, and will be hitting all the parks.

Fun idea!

This reminds me of a true story I read about (perhaps in Reader's Digest)...

A mystery novel (pre-Da Vinci Code) featured a plot point where a clue was hidden in a famous public statue. One reader, just for the heck of it, decided to check out the statue and see what he could find.

S/He reached into a little cubby hole, and found a note that read: "That was a really good book, wasn't it?"

Really great and fun idea! I personally would not do it (I'd get all turned around :hammer: ). I'd like to comment on the person that joined this discussion with a rude comment: Shame on you!

Sounds like a lot of fun! Could even be a new family vacation tradition. What kind of things do you leave and what are some good places for hidding them?

I hide stuff around Port Orleans. Mostly outdoors just off the walkways. Sometimes slightly buried, or maybe on a tree branch.

This year I will leave some pins, smashed pennies (the kind you smash for 50 cents through the parks) and maybe some other items. Then when I get back I will give clues as to where they are located, and see if someone here can find them.

Our trip is Nov 11th to the 20th. So look for a post from me on the locations on the 21st.

61 Days to go!

that would be awesome! I too am planning a trip in November. I will be working SuperSoap Weekend, the 11th and 12th. Rogue, if you dont like ABC Soaps, do not go to Disney-MGM on the 11th or 12th. It will be chaotic for any non-soap fans. Just a tip. Anyway, Dont know how much time I'll have, but I might hide some stuff around the Studios! I'll keep everyone posted as well.

Awesome! Thanks for info on the Soaps Weekend! I was wondering if it was going to be crazy. Have great weekend there!

Ok... no real rules... Just have a lil object, a coin or a little figure... something small enough that you can put on a ledge or in a crease. For example, I hid a penny in the Pirates line just as you get on the boats. There is a lantern on the wall about 50 feet before boarding. I stuck the penny between the lantern and the wall. It's been there for about 3 years... but I dont know if it's still there because of the remodel. You can place it on a ledge in a restaurant.

(If you are going to Disney before us, and you are willing to hide something somwhere in one of the parks, let me know)
LOL, this sounds like the Shawshank Redemption!

I'll be looking. And maybe hiding something of my own!

Were going in Dec and then back again with a whole big girl scout troop in June. I think I will have to do some of this...sounds like fun. Maybe on our trip in Dec. I'll leave something non-disney but from our area like a St.Louis Cardinals Baseball pin. perhaps one item in each of the four parks...my question is, if its really busy how do you hide it w/o someone else seeing you and then taking the said item right then?

sounds like geocaching, which rocks. a geocache in disney world would be pretty much the best thing ever.
Geocaching is a blast! (http://www.geocaching.com/)

Something else that is similar is Benchmark (or survey markers) searching. Disney has their own "special" benchmarks and many have already been located and the GPS coordinates can be found on this site.

I am planning on leaving a few things through out Port Orleans, and a couple of those magnetic hide-a-key things in the parks. It should be pretty simple to do.

At least it will be a little something to look forward to when coming home. I will probable start with hints, and go from there.

This should be fun!

59 days to go!!!!!!!!

pretend you are doing something else like reading a magazine or taking a picture when you put it there.

ah thanks, something so simple and it never came to mind. Now I think I will have to really think about what to hide in Dec and see if anyone finds it before our trip back in June.
