Going to WDW during the Christmas holidays, any spoiler free advice?

My wife and I have decided to splurge and take our 10-year-old son to WDW this December. It will be a short trip, we will be in the parks for about three days. I'm doing my best to avoid looking at pictures and reading about experiences. My family has been lucky enough to visit WDW several times, but never during the holidays. So I want everything to kind of be a surprise. That said if anybody has any advice as what is a must do, please let me know. We are spending our time at the Wilderness Lodge. I'm thinking about doing one day AK, one day MK, and one day Epcot. We are definitely planning to attend the party at the Magic Kingdom as well. Thanks in advance!

First off you are staying at the best Christmas lodge. Do the monorail lodge tour. If you do the tour early evening many places will have choirs in the lobby, really gets you in the mood. At EPCOT the Candlelight Processional is a must for us. Have a safe trip you will love this time of year at WDW.

If you are staying on-site, try to take advantage of morning extra magic hours, especially if you're going the week of Christmas.

As for other good holiday stuff- go to Epcot World Showcase at watch the various Holiday Storytellers. Also, keep an eye out at various resorts, as sometimes they'll have character meets in special holiday outfits.

Thanks for the input, we tend to be at the parks late and then head back for a night cap and then we sleep in more than most, but if the parks close earlier during that time of year, that could, change. The monorail tour sounds cool!

I agree with all other comments.
The Candle light Processional is great.
If you have time, I would go to the Grande Floridian.
Epcot is always great at night when everything is lit up.
I went in November last year and stayed at the Wilderness Lodge. We spent a few hours our last night, just sitting in the lobby area.

How exciting for you and your family! Despite your trip being quick, I'd say don't rush and slow down to take in all the beauty that WDW is at the holiday season, and don't forget to pack a sweatshirt and pair of long pants. You never know what the weather will be and dang was I happy when I've had those clothes in December before.

Wishing you guys a great trip!

I would agree see the gingerbread creations at the Grand Floridian. I would also suggest going early or later to the parks as they tend to do phase closing as Christmas day is incredibly crazy.
