Hi Everyone

So I am looking for some advise here, it has been a rough year for me so treating myself to a trip to my fav place to cheer me up. A couple questions, do people go solo to Disney? Should i stay cheapy outside at a hotel with shuttle service or should i do the All star? Any good things to do solo while I am there? Any advise would be great! Thanks a bunch

Lots of people go solo. There are even guidebooks for 'singles' at WDW.

As far as hotels, thats really your choice as to what you want to spend and where you want to stay.

On property is ALWAYS better, in my opinion, no matter who you go with or without.

Glad you are getting to treat yourself!:D
I have heard of people going to WDW alone.
I would stay at All Star.
It would probably be more convienient to stay on the WDW property.
I would recommend renting a sea racer or taking a behind the scenes tour of some kind.
Have fun!

I would stay on property(because I have never stayed off) and I would get the dining plan and go to my fav TS each night. I would stay at poly in a MKV room and have a BALL!!!! Doing exactly what I want to do when I want to do it!! No one saying we have to stop for the bathroom or at every single store we walk by. No whining kids, well at least no that I would have to deal with. Thats reason enough to go right there. I could go to the Outlet Character store and not be rushed when making my decisions:lol: I would go in a second by myself and I think you should do. Plenty of people do it everyday. Go have a blast:sohappy:

I recently completed a trip where I did the parks by myself and I will say it does feel different, but yet again fun. I did not have to justify anything with anyone. I fully suggest it.

OMG I highly recommend going solo at WDW. Before I was a cst member did it and it was amazing! (I think that may have been the clincher that made me want to become a CM).

Take your time and enjoy, do a little planning, but you can really take a WHOLE day in the park, like 12 hours at Epcot and just rest whenever you need.

I completely agree with thinktink, do something special and fun that you wouldn;t normally. Tours are always a great decision. I would also take the time and talk to random CMs they have all kinds of fun tidbits to add. Plus if you're really nice and brighten their day, sometimes they'll repay the favor :animwink:. Also, if you have the chance, go check out some of the cool cast buildings across from Downtown Disney. Both Casting, and Team Disney are incredible feats of architechture, check it out!

I was actually there 2 weekends ago solo and had a great time. I would recommend hitting up Jellyrolls(assuming your 21+) at night and just enjoy doing things on your time throughout the day

I went solo to the parks in Feb. 2005. What a great trip!

Don't get me wrong, having a companion is excellent but going solo really frees you up to go at whatever pace you want. Also I flew through a lot of e-ticket lines to get on because of those magical words "any solo travellers?" or it had a single rider line.

I did all four parks (most of the rides but skipping a lot of the shows because they slow you down) in three days. It helped that one day I went to AK and MK has special EMH until 2am. This is the reason you should always stay on site when solo. You can really take advantage of EMH. Wear good shoes if you really plan on storming the parks. I had good sneakers but my feet were sore for a couple of days after.

I had a fantastic time. I felt very comfortable with striking up conversations with friendly faces whenever I was feeling in the mood. I only really felt alone at times when I was sitting down to have a meal.

Have a great time. You will surely have a lot of fun. :sohappy:

I went solo last September for an entire week, stayed at All Star Sports (no car). I had an incredible time. I saw every show, street entertainer, spent hours at attractions(disneys, one mans dream at MGM and the animation building). Two places that when I was there with a group we would rush through.

It was awesome just to sit on a bench in the Magic Kingdom Rail Road Station, prop my feet up, drink a coke, and stare at the castle.

In fact this year I found my self wishing I was going solo again instead of brining a friend.

Enjoy it, you deserve it, take the segway tour, HAVE A GREAT TIME

I went solo in May, 2006 and i am planning my second solo trip the first week of December. I have always gone to WDW with friends or family and I was a bit nervous about traveling alone! Please don't be! I stayed on site at POR and had a wonderful time. My only regret is that I went for only 5 days in 2006! I took the Backstage 7 hour tour and the Keys to the Kingdom tour and I would highly recommend both! I agree with jjgoo, I did not like eating along at the table services establishments at night but I was fine with everything else. Fast food, I was fine with. I loved being able to do what I wanted when I wanted! Most CM's are really friendly when they realize you are alone and you get to meet some amazing people while waiting for attractions! Go enjoy yourself!

i went solo a few years back and it was great,it is a very unique experience, best thing is you dont have anyone to counter-act what you want to do,i actually got the opportunity to meet new people as well(something highly unlikely to happen if i had gone with someone)

POP is the best value resort to stay at, one bus stop ( not 3 like the all-stars) and only 5 mins away from MGM :D

I do solo day trips (or did, last month) and I loved it. I stayed busy enough. I loved people watching and I had more than enough to keep me occupied. I do agree that eating is when I feel a tad lonely so I skip table restaurants and just grab a turkey leg or a hot dog or pretzle. I also hate sitting down to eat anyway in the parks so ... lol.

I'm planning a five day solo trip at an on-site resort (mostly so I can see the nighttime shows without having to leave the park at 4 or 5 because I dread the ride home later) and I can't wait. I figure at night after the day ends it could be a tad lonely cause you want to talk about your day, but hey ... that's what a phone is for and I plan on staying busy until I'm tired so ...

GO! Treat yourself and have FUN! I know I plan to :)
