Going Full Time

Full time Taryn, really? COOL! Well, I can tell you that much... if you get an apt with other girls that is not on Disney property, it's going to be so much better! Chatham/Vista rules are rediculous for the amount of money we pay to live there!
I know you get a small rase, that's for sure. Oh and well, I guess you won't be on the bottom anymore, 'cause that's what CPs are, apparently ;).

You think paying money means you shouldn't have to follow rules? All apartment complexes have ordinances. Plus I'd like for anyone to find an apartment in a gated community for under $400 a month including utilities, internet and cable.

What about seasonal? Isn't it easier to go seasonal and you can still work as many hours as a full-time CM?

Yes, you can work the hours of a full timer till you are capped and cannot work only but a certain amount under 24 hours.

I live in a gated communtiy and my rent is under $400 a month including everything. But there are 5 of us here. but im moving to a house soon which is going to be about $400-$450 a month :).

FYI for you seasonal folks. I just learned you can request hours and put your avalability on the portal.

I put in to be there on the 13 -15th of Dec. Maybe i'll see you there.

Now for some unsolicited advice (but on thread, at least)

Just don't let a low-wage frontline theme park job become your whole life aspiration. Careerstart is suppose to give you a start, not an end.

Sometimes people get stuck - you know that's true, you work with them.

If you're going to stay, figure out how college is going to work even if its just an AA. It's important and will move you up in the ranks at Disney.

:sohappy: Kudos for that post, MouserMerf

People get stuck many places. You see them at the local grocery, at the regional mall, even in office buildings downtown. Wherever you are, if you don't like your job, get a plan. Don't complain (you just make yourself miserable), just plan your long term goal, and then take the next logical step. Does that mean immediately quit the current job? Probably not. If you didn't like your car you wouldn't just leave it by the side of the road... you'd try to get what you could out of it and trade it in for something better.

Ok, I'm an old fogey, carry an AARP card and so have license to dispense advice like this.:hammer:

Good luck, Taryn. Sounds like you have done good work at WDW and are finding a plan. May you be one of those who realizes their dreams through a long career at Disney which - when all is said and done - is a good employer.
