Trip Report Gobble Gobble - We’re Live!

Helllllooo Humans!

Ugh. Where to start with this trip?! The backstory is a bit long & sad, but hakuna matata! Disney is our absolute happy place. It's where we go to celebrate accomplishments big and small, and where we retreat to to escape reality. This trip with be my 9th trip since last May! So how did this trip come to be??

Dillon & I (Santina) will be celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary on December 10th and we figured there's no place better to celebrate than WDW! In September we started looking for hotels & flights and there was just NOTHING. Well, I shouldn't say nothing, but nothing we were willing to pay that much money for. So we decided to give up on the Disney trip & celebrate at a ski resort near our home instead. However, when I priced out 2 nights and it came out to be more than $1000 and my internal crazy Disney voice said "keep checking... spend your money on the mouse"

So I kept checking and checking & eventually found flights & a hotel at a reasonable price for the week of Thanksgiving but I wasn't super thrilled about it being during Thanksgiving. A week later I found out I was pregnant and would be 14 weeks along during our potential trip. I got so excited, got the okay to book from Dill, and started planning how I was going to tell my amazing husband he was going to be a dad in Disney World!!!

And then I had a miscarriage. And my world was devastated & I had to tell my husband that I was pregnant and now wasn't and it was awful. We went back and forth about wanting to still go on this trip because what should have been a wonderful celebration is now a reminder of our child that isn't here. Ultimately, we decided we would still go and celebrate my birthday (the 26th) and our one year anniversary. And I'm glad we decided that because boy do we need this vacation!

Dill recently started his own business & has been working 15+ hour days. I'm in graduate school & working 40 hour weeks for my internship with an hour commute each way with no pay. We recently got 2 new puppies bringing our fur baby count to FOUR!! So you could say our house is a mad house and that this Disney vacation is well deserved & certainly needed. So here's to a hopefully wonderful trip filled with joy & celebration, and maybe a little one in 9 short months ;)

Thanks for following along! Be back later with the deets!

They're all over the place now.. I saw them in multiple stores at both MK and AK this weekend. :) The swarms of millennial girls around the displays were absent! :p

Hahahaha good to know. I’m definitley going to need a pair when I get there. My engagement ring is rose gold and I need to match. It’s totally normal to match your rings to your ears, right??o_O

Today was our last full day in the world and Dillon requested that we hit the parks sans cell phones  I figured it might be nice for a change so we had a no cell phone day which also means a no photo day :(

Anywhoooo, we got up and enjoyed our morning from the comforts of our room at the Poly. Boy do we love it here!! We’re seriously considering buying more DVC points soon and I think our next ownership will be the Poly! We left for Epcot around 11:30 and walked to the TTC to hop on the monorail.

Once we got to Epcot we rode Spaceship Earth, used a fastpass on Test Track, and journeyed around the world before having a late lunch at Via Napoli. We continued our stroll around world showcase (with Grand Marnier slushes among the way) and rode figment before relaxing at the DVC lounge. P.S. they recently updated the furniture! I was last there in August and several of the chairs have been swapped out, the new ones are much more comfy in my opinion!

After a little r&r we rode Living with the Land, Soarin, and Nemo before calling it a night. Spaceship Earth was a walk on so we said farewell to Epcot properly with a final ride! Jumped on the monorail to the TTC and then took our short walk to the Poly where a lovely pile of vomit was strewn across the walkway:grumpy: we tried to find a cast member but no luck! I called the front desk when we got back so I hope someone cleaned it up bc it was ICKY.

Back at the room I packed up our stuff bc the tragical is picking us up at 7:50am. We ordered the Polynesian Twilight Feast for one adult and in case you were wondering just how much food came for “1 adult” here ya go!

It was an INSANE amount of food! Dill is a huge eater and between the two of us there is still plenty of food left. You definitely do not need to order more than 1 portion for 2-3 people. It also comes with the ever delicious POG juice that I cannot have bc I’m allergic to passion fruit but Dillon thoroughly enjoyed it!

And that was our day! We might head over to Trader Sam’s in a little bit for a drink before heading to bed but who knows ;)

Now it’s time to say goodbye to all our company. M-I-C, see ya real soon! K-E-Y, why? Because we like you! M-O-U-S-E

And our trip has come to an end. The tragical made its way to the Poly to pick us up promptly at 7:50

:cry::cry:

And that’s a wrap! While nothing super magical happened this trip, nothing awful happened either! It was just a perfectly nice trip and we spent quality time together and it was exactly what we needed :)

What a wonderful quick trip! Happy unbirthday to you! Thank you for showing how much food was in the Twilight feast because I am planning on doing that on my next trip...definitely just ordering for one. :hungry:
Thank you! And no problem!! SO MUCH FOOD. I don't know how 1 person would ever be able to eat all of that. We asked for silverware for 2 and they had no problem sending it even though we only purchased 1 meal :)

Today is my birthday!! Yay!! We got up early to pack up and move to the Polynesian.
Dillon gave me my birthday gifts (makeup) and even my gift bag had a hidden Mickey on it ;)

We got to Animal Kingdom a little after 9, rode Everest twice and watched the festival of the lion king before heading over to Epcot for lunch. The crowds are much less heavy today thankfully :)

We hopped on a bus over to yacht club and walked to Epcot

And made it to Le Cellier for a birthday lunch!

Dillon loves this little cottage and always calls it “our house”
For lunch we both got cheddar soup. Dillon got poutine and I got chestnut gnocchi- both were delicious

Of course we ordered a creme brûlée for dessert! While we were waiting I got bored and made a Christmas tree out of my napkin

And that was lunch!

We strolled to the main entrance of Epcot, jumped on a monorail to the ttc and walked to our room at the Poly where we currently reside!!

I’m apparently waiting on a birthday surprise :) and then we’ll take a little nap before heading out to mvmcp ;)

See ya soon!!

Very impressed by the Christmas tree napkin. Happy Belated birthday!
