Trip Report Gobble Gobble - We’re Live!

Helllllooo Humans!

Ugh. Where to start with this trip?! The backstory is a bit long & sad, but hakuna matata! Disney is our absolute happy place. It's where we go to celebrate accomplishments big and small, and where we retreat to to escape reality. This trip with be my 9th trip since last May! So how did this trip come to be??

Dillon & I (Santina) will be celebrating our 1 year wedding anniversary on December 10th and we figured there's no place better to celebrate than WDW! In September we started looking for hotels & flights and there was just NOTHING. Well, I shouldn't say nothing, but nothing we were willing to pay that much money for. So we decided to give up on the Disney trip & celebrate at a ski resort near our home instead. However, when I priced out 2 nights and it came out to be more than $1000 and my internal crazy Disney voice said "keep checking... spend your money on the mouse"

So I kept checking and checking & eventually found flights & a hotel at a reasonable price for the week of Thanksgiving but I wasn't super thrilled about it being during Thanksgiving. A week later I found out I was pregnant and would be 14 weeks along during our potential trip. I got so excited, got the okay to book from Dill, and started planning how I was going to tell my amazing husband he was going to be a dad in Disney World!!!

And then I had a miscarriage. And my world was devastated & I had to tell my husband that I was pregnant and now wasn't and it was awful. We went back and forth about wanting to still go on this trip because what should have been a wonderful celebration is now a reminder of our child that isn't here. Ultimately, we decided we would still go and celebrate my birthday (the 26th) and our one year anniversary. And I'm glad we decided that because boy do we need this vacation!

Dill recently started his own business & has been working 15+ hour days. I'm in graduate school & working 40 hour weeks for my internship with an hour commute each way with no pay. We recently got 2 new puppies bringing our fur baby count to FOUR!! So you could say our house is a mad house and that this Disney vacation is well deserved & certainly needed. So here's to a hopefully wonderful trip filled with joy & celebration, and maybe a little one in 9 short months ;)

Thanks for following along! Be back later with the deets!

Ahhhhhh you got a pair of the coveted rose gold ears. They look great on you. I’ve been looking for them for what seems like forever but no luck. Hopefully they have a pair when I’m there in December. In September the CM at Disney Springs told me “girls are crazy and we can’t keep them stocked”.

Great report so far. Can’t wait to read more.

Thanks! I couldn’t find them in the parks the only place I’ve seen them so far was World of Disney in Disney Springs!! I hope they’re there in December too! :)

By the time we got back Friday night it was after 1am. I took a quiet stroll around French Quarter & made my way to our room by 1:30

We slept until about 9, got up and ready and headed to Epcot! Again, the crowds were pretty heavy. We rode Spaceship Earth and Mission Space and then indulged in a mickey pretzel :)

We made our way over to The Land and watched The Circle of Life. I don’t know about anyone else, but that film just depresses me. It was made years ago and a lot of our environmental problems have either stayed the same or gotten worse and it just makes me sad for the environment. I don’t know where this quote is from but it resonates with me: “we did not inherit the Earth from our parents, we are borrowing it from our children”. I wish more people saw it that way.

Off my soapbox! We decided to go live with the land which was decorated for Christmas!

And a decorated lab!

And with that we left the land. Dillon loves the wall outside and requested I take a pic for my trip report so here ya go!

Next we decided to watch the short film next to figment. As we were walking over, Dillon said the words I feared the most, “I think I’m getting bored with Disney” :(:bawling::cautious:

Now I know it takes a special kind of person to want to come to Disney as often as I do. This is my 5th trip since January and Dillon’s 4th. While he loves Disney, he doesn’t love it like I do so I get where he’s coming from. We decided that we would take a quick trip in May and do a Disney cruise for my graduation but after that we won’t return until Glaxay’s Edge is complete :jawdrop:

It seems like a far way away but hey, it’ll make it all the more exciting? I don’t know.

Anyways, we stopped at the bathroom & when I came out I found Dillon like this, mesmerized by Spaceship Earth, so I know the Disney Magic is still working ;)

(And yes, he knows better than to sit on the handrails )
Here was his view

We watched the shorts and walked over to the boat to Hollywood Studios. On our way over, my mother sent me this...

Okayyy? Thanks Mom! (This actually describes her perfectly)
We made it to Hollywood Studios

And to mama melroses right on time!
I got the Saltimbocca

And Dillon got the steak. Now, if you frequent mamas like we do, you know the steak is scrumptious. Welp, the changed the steak, and it is no longer scrumptious. At all. (In our opinion that is!)

After our late lunch we did the Muppets, Indy, Voyage of the Little Mermaid, and Tower of Terror twice.

We saw this monstrosity

(It’s a no for me)

And called it a night! I should mention that something I ate triggered a mild allergic reaction! I took a Benadryl and passed out as soon as we got back.

They're all over the place now.. I saw them in multiple stores at both MK and AK this weekend. :) The swarms of millennial girls around the displays were absent! :p

Today is my birthday!! Yay!! We got up early to pack up and move to the Polynesian.
Dillon gave me my birthday gifts (makeup) and even my gift bag had a hidden Mickey on it ;)

We got to Animal Kingdom a little after 9, rode Everest twice and watched the festival of the lion king before heading over to Epcot for lunch. The crowds are much less heavy today thankfully :)

We hopped on a bus over to yacht club and walked to Epcot

And made it to Le Cellier for a birthday lunch!

Dillon loves this little cottage and always calls it “our house”
For lunch we both got cheddar soup. Dillon got poutine and I got chestnut gnocchi- both were delicious
BE370FA9-6AB2-4C12-B5AB-92B82EF0A291.jpeg

Of course we ordered a creme brûlée for dessert! While we were waiting I got bored and made a Christmas tree out of my napkin
5EF3F360-205E-4C32-A968-11255728E2C6.jpeg

And that was lunch!

We strolled to the main entrance of Epcot, jumped on a monorail to the ttc and walked to our room at the Poly where we currently reside!!

I’m apparently waiting on a birthday surprise :) and then we’ll take a little nap before heading out to mvmcp ;)

See ya soon!!

So MVMCP!
We made our way to Magic Kingdom around 6 and decided we’d spend the party making up for lost time from the crowds being so heavy over the weekend. We got in, got our bands, and started in Adventureland. We rode Jingle Cruise and Pirates and made our way to Frontierland where we rode BTMRR and Splash! We had entire log to ourselves and showed off that we’re Wilderness Explorers
605091D6-DD0F-4ADE-83C4-38A6A438066F.jpeg

Next, we rode Haunted Mansion, Pooh, and The Little Mermaid. We skipped 7 Dwarfs for now because the wait was still an hour.

Off to Tomorrowland! We rode the Peoplemover (twice) and Buzz and then watched Holiday Wishes from a bench outside of the Speedway before hitting Space Mountain!

At this point we were pretty tired, so we decided we’d go wait for the mine train and head out. The wait said 55 but it was really more like 25 thankfully! We rode and made our way to Main Street just as the parade was starting to pass by. We found a lonely photo pass photographer
B5C2A6E5-AC95-4453-84BC-95CFF548E9DA.jpeg

And on our way out found another behind ropes! A cast member asked us if we wanted a picture as we walked by and we said sure!
1E8CD2D4-BF18-4E77-BAA9-E73FAC4D75E3.jpeg

And that was that! A perfect ending to a perfect birthday!! Definitely makes me feels better about creeping up on 30 ;)
