Go to TSL now or wait?

We will be there in a few months and were going to skip HS, but crowds are lower than we expected for TSL. Is TSL worth adding another park day? Or adding to one of our other park days? One of my kids is afraid of coasters, mainly due to heights. How high are the drops for SDD? She's never done SDMT (partly because we rarely can get FPs for it so it's not worth the wait). She's done the Harry Potter rides and while those always make her a bit nervous, she always rides them. I think it's seeing how high she's up or how fast she's going is what scares her and makes the Potter rides different, those are both dark rides and you can't see other people ride it before you. If you don't think she'll like it, we'll probably wait until Star Wars is ready so there's other stuff to do. I don't want to have to buy another ticket, or spend time traveling there on one of our other park days if she's not going to ride it. I've shown those POV videos to her and they make her nervous, but it's hard to tell how high or fast some things are in those videos.

I would say that HS is worth at least half-a-day but if your daughter is afraid of rollercoasters then there is really not much to do right now. 3 out of 6 rides in DHS are either rollercoasters or thrill rides and the other 3 don't worth another park ticket. I don't know exactly how high are the drops in Slinky but they are higher than both the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and the Barnstormer. Slinky Dog Dash is fast but slower than Big Thunder Mountain so speed probably won't scare her. The height might.

Are they? I recall seeing that there was a 3 hour wait to get into the park at 9:00am, and people were lining up in mass as early as 4:30am on opening day. Have things fallen off?

Yep quite a lot. The maximum wait that Slinky sees these days is around 70-80 minutes and the Saucers and TSM are at 50 minutes The waits for Woody's Lunchbox is still long.

Those waits were from opening day when Slinky was at 4.5 hours and Saucers was at 160 minutes.

Well opening day you gotta cut some slack. There will always be people who want to be the first to do something or get something and will wait in line for hours to do it, from being the first to get the new iPhone to the overnight crowds each of those awful Twilight movies would get from the diehard fans, or the lines at B&N when a new Harry Potter book would be coming out, to skipping Thanksgiving dinner in order to get a 75 inch TV for $250 at Best Buy on Black Friday. Someone will always be That Guy. But then you wait a bit and there are still plenty of iPhones, plenty of movie tickets and books, plenty of deals on electronics and you're not in the long line. Same deal, though on any given day YMMV.
