Go Deluxe & never go back?

Hi Everyone -

We had said that we would never stay at a Deluxe.... until we stayed at the Yacht Club.

We stayed at the YC Concierge Level (free upgrade!) for our honeymoon this July and it was out of this world. Previously, between the two of us, we had stayed at All Star Music, Pop, Port Orleans, and Caribbean Beach. I even used to think all of the people staying at deluxe resorts were out of their mind - paying three times the price and missing the wonderful amenities that $82/night gets you at ASMu.

Now I don't think we can ever go back to value or moderate resorts. Im still sticker shocked by the price of a deluxe resort vacation, but I think we'll just have to go to WDW less often.

Anyone else ever felt this way? Did you go back to the values and/or moderates? Were you just as happy as you used to be with them?

Deluxe at Disney isnt really deluxe though is it

Nope. You are really paying for the location...and possibly the transportation...but our visit at Yacht Club we had to wait for three buses at AK because that bus serviced Yacht, Beach, Boardwalk, Swan and Dolphin. I didn't really think the rooms were that spacious.

OK- I think I would have had to demand a new room. Not that TX is spider free, but those years I lived in FL did not exactly help my fear of spiders. Hmmmm- Poly and CR are tops on my list for our next trip...I wonder how often the CMs at check in get a request for a spider free balcony.:lol:

we used an AP discount at Yacht in July. When we got to our room we had a hole in the wall between the two beds...looked like someone got mad and threw something at the wall. The hole was about the size of a baseball. Also, the cabinet door covering the fridge was broken off and was leaning against the cabinet and two lamps had broken bulbs...literally broken, smashed. The bellman called down for us to see about switching rooms and we were told nothing else was available. They did send a repairman up right away to fix the cabinet and the lights and put putty in the wall.
