To the best of my knowledge there's always been a Gangster and a Western version. I almost always get the Gangster version (which I find boring).

Its always been there its just not used as much. I love the cowboy scene it seems to have a little more to it than the gangster scene in my opinion.

Which scene you get depends on what car you are in.
The first car gets the western scene, the second gets the gangster scene.
This is, of course, only when its busy enough to have two cars running at all times.

Yer, the two different versions have allways been there but the version that you saw is generally only used during peak periods where the first set of cars goes to the bank explosion scene and the second goes to the gangster scene.

We rode it in May 07 and it was gangster, and in December 07 it was cowboy. I have ridden it evertime we have ever gone and as far as I can remember I have always seen the gangsterversion.

Like everyone said the front car gets the Western while the back gets the Gangster. If it is at peak times (and both cars are running) I believe that depending on which line you get on when you enter the second room (with the movie trailers running) dictates whether or not you end up in the first or second car. My husband and I usually pick the line to the left (because on a Disney line, if there is an option to go left or right, pick left it's usually shorter) and typically end up in the ganster scene.

I have only been able to catch the western scene once or twice....man does that fire get hot...but it is by far the better of the two. I can not stand the gangster scene and find it very boring and cheesy
