I went to the '05 GM Auto Show In Motion last week here at the Orange County, California version about 10 miles south of Disneyland. The GM cars and trucks I was looking forward to seeing and driving were actually disapointing from a quality standpoint, but the new Toyota Tacoma jumped to the top of my shopping list.

Funny thing is that Honda is now the big new sponsor for Disneyland. Honda now sponsors the Disneyland fireworks, and the new online rumor is that they are going to give away a car a day during the 50th like GM did at Disneyland during the 30th Anniversary back in 1985. I kind of doubt Honda will go in for something like that. But GM has been gone from Disneyland's Innoventions for more than a year, and Honda has just moved in with big sponsorship dollars at Disneyland.

Could a sponsorship change for WDW be far behind? When does the GM sponsorship of Test Track expire? 2008?

I was really hoping to see my next vehicle there so I would be able to get all the kinks worked out of it...

But, alas, it is not on the scheduled list of attendees. :(

Guess I'll just have to order it now, then tear it apart when I get it.

well...

it IS out of the concept stage...

...and they are slowly making them...

just, i believe they are using the old fashioned way of manufacturing:

1) sends the little guy out into the field to dig up some ore
2) little guy starts a fire and begins process of cooking in a pot the ore he dug up...

763,072) Saturn decides it's not worth it after little guy's grandchildren are age 30 and still don't have the drive-train system completed.

Mike, how's leaving on Tuesday, April 12, returning on Thursday the 14th sound? It won't be hard to get a cheap hotel room those dates, and they're selling discounted admission to the show on weekdays as well.

Lemme know.

I can't decide if I like the Sky or Solstice better.

Is the Sky supposed to be available late summer/early fall like the Solstice (assuming that hasn't been pushed back)?

My sources say "yes"...

But you know how this kind of stuff goes.

(Huh...just like WDW rumors!)

gotta give the edge to the Sky, its got that futuristic Opel Speedster thing going for it, the Solstice has more of a classic bubblyness that doesn't quite work for me (maybe its that bulbous 'nose'?), plus the Sky will come with more standard features (at a higher price though)

all that, AND my fiance is a Saturn fangirl for some reason, so i don't really have a choice :)
