morning
Mike came home with cinammon rolls for me this morning...and it took me forever to eat one, I'm still not feeling great....whereas Abby after a short morning nap, seems all better ...I guess we'll see.
However, he also got a copy of Wall-E, so I'm heading out to watch that. Have a good morning everyone.
Doing...pretty well. You?Hi Steph, how are you?

OMG the girl I work w/ just got called into our boss's office. :dazzle:
Oh no oh no oh no..... *crosses fingers*
Nope. Boss just called to give me a heads-up that they let her go.*crosses fingers* Maybe it's about something unrelated.

Thanks. We're having a staff meeting for our department at noon to discuss changes. In a way I'm relieved because I know this means that there's no way any of the rest of us will be let go. But I feel really bad for her. And I know it's going to mean longer hours for us probably, but again I should just feel lucky to, for now, be keeping my job.
Well, she actually seems a bit relieved so that's good. Her commute was starting to get to her and she was wanting to start looking for something closer to where she lives anyway. But still...Yeah I know how you feel. I would be the same way so relieved that my job was okay but I would feel bad for her too. And at least they are keeping you in the loop. The only time I experienced a layoff they just came in a random day and laid off the last 10 people they hired (which included me.) It was awful.

It will also mean me being stuck at the desk for 4 hours straight in the mornings unable to get up at ALL since we are back-up for the CEO's phones. And I tend to get up and down alot these days...
Oh that stinks. Plus I am sure in addition to answering the phones for those 4 hours you will have to juggle all of your other work as well. I know how it feels, believe me.
Thanks you guys. I'm anxious for the meeting just to have the full view of how everything's going to change.hey steph, i was on real quick but was in the middle of something and didn't have a chance to respond...
but I just wanted to say I'm really sorry about the girl you work with. I really am. I'm glad to hear that, from the very little you said so i don't want to make any assumptions, but that I'm glad to hear the girl seemed to at least look at the situation as the glass being half full and taking it well... again just judging from what you said...
I'm glad to hear that you're safe too. It is a very bittersweet situation where... you're happy but you feel bad about being happy... and it's just tough...
Thanks you guys. I'm anxious for the meeting just to have the full view of how everything's going to change.
Very true.Another positive thing is that they are sharing with you the overall plan and reasons for change. More often than not, at places I have worked they keep you in the dark and it just makes it even worse.
