Give Me Your Best Disney Memes

WITH A DAMN iPAD!

Ugh, can't stand this. Snap a pic of this, gotta videotape that, and not enjoy ANY of it. The worst part is the glow from the cell phones, or idiots with their external video lighting.

The MOMENT "Wishes" started this past Saturday, it seemed like every single human being stood there with their freaking iPad/iPhone/camera taking photos. The glow from these screens nearly negated the point of the area lighting being reduced. I always want to tell people, "Enjoy the moment through your eyes, not a 4-inch screen! And by the way...your pictures probably suck!" I understand wanting photographs of a great memory, but standing there, videotaping the whole thing (vertically, at that) or taking flash photos of the ENTIRE fireworks/castle projection presentation is just plain dumb. YouTube has far superior videos than 99% of the people in that crowd! They should leave it to the pros and the really good amateurs. Look it up on google image or YouTube later! Or hell, get it from Martin!!!

(I have same general philosophy with taking photos/videos at concerts.)

Sorry for the rant....

There is a great site showing the tons of idiots that do this at the Disney parks...

On that same note, some of you might have heard of/read a dude called Maddox's "Best page in the universe." He has a pretty funny, albeit rude and probably NSFW, column on people who use iPads for cameras, he calls them "padholes." Warning: strong language! But quite amusing!

Also, here's a good one:

I had the exact same conversation this morning at Monday Mum's coffee. To me, it's like taking your tv to take pictures. So friggin annoying. I've posted the link on my Facebook. Padholes. Love that phrase!

I know, right? By this point I don't think they even have to since so many people already have and put them on youtube like you said. That's why I stopped obsessing with recording everything XD
I think everyone's obsessed with preserving their moments. They probably CAN'T enjoy the moment unless they're recording it and able to show it to others later.
Doesn't really bother me though unless people start using things like iPads. they're so big and bulky, they get in the way of everyone. ><
Oh god, and don't get me started on those who record things vertically

Why should I care I others are taking pictures or with what or using what camera orientation? This is just like the silly ants about people texting or playing smartphone games while in line. Why should I care? Next, we are going to get all upset because some families sit down together for their evening meals while others don't. Not my family, not my concern.

Because sometimes these people happen to film things or events that you or others might want or need to watch.

LOVE that link! One quote in particular jumped out at me.
From just after the author taking a picture of Van Gogh's self-portrait in Paris:
"I sat there staring at this picture on my camera, trying to see what made it "mine." It looked like every other picture of Van Gogh's self-portrait I'd ever seen. I kept staring at "my" picture, looking for some glimmer of justification for its existence, I thought that maybe I could show this to my friends as proof that I'd seen the portrait with my own eyes. But I'm not in this picture, so there's no proof I was ever there. Even if I was in the picture, it could have been photo shopped. And why would I need to prove it to anyone anyway?"

This is what's so sad. People take pics/videos of theme park rides, shows, architecture, you name it...and post them as if they themselves did something to create such beauty. "Look at this amazing picture of Cinderella Castle that I took!" Umm...yeah buddy, you held aloft a device & clicked a button. We've got us a real Imagineer here, now don't we.
I understand wanting to take family pics for memories. But to all the Walt-wannabes who think that filming Wishes or getting the best night-shot of Spaceship Earth makes you some sort of creative genius...give it a rest.

Agreed 100%. It's one thing if you REALLY know what you're doing (I'm looking at you marni1971 ), but most people are taking sub-par videos or blurry photos that distract from the overall enjoyment anyway. I want to say to people at WDW all the time: "Guess what? there's a better video/picture of this than the one you're taking. Try google dot com, you'll find amazing things. put it down and enjoy it!!) I literally stood behind a dude who clicked his camera every 3 seconds while watching Wishes...the guy didn't actually WATCH it, just took a billion pictures!! UGH!
