Girly question: what to wear?

Shoe wise I usually wore my Nikes but the last time we were there I wore a sperry type boat shoe. I got them at Payless (way cheaper than the $80+ you would pay for authentic sperries) they were so nice for walking around the park all day, and I have terrible arches that hurt from wearing flats for too long on any normal day. Be sure to get some no show socks to go with them though!

I usually go in June and live in dresses, skirts with halters or tanks. I actually find them much cooler than shorts, (a little extra breeze LOL) I wears crocs flip flops on my feet, comfort first!

I know that sounds silly, but DH and I are going the first week of June, and I am very well aware of how hot it will be. My initial thought is to wear the same kind of stuff I would wear to a Zumba class or to go running: running shorts/skorts and a moisture-wicking tank top (especially during the day). I want to look cute and feminine, but I also don't want to be wearing anything that will broadcast to the world when I start sweating, especially since I'll probably want a zillion pictures. I do know that we will be eating dinner at DTD and probably staying out for drinks and such one night, so I'll dress accordingly for that, but that's not such an issue because we won't be outside in the heat for that time.

Anyways, I made the mistake of mentioning my game plan for my during-the-day wardrobe to my DH, and he looked disappointed, maybe even borderline offended... I don't want to disappoint him, but I also want to be comfortable and confident, and I think that I can probably make those kinds of outfits look a little better based on the way I combine things, making sure to wear makeup, etc.

Thoughts?

PS- go ahead, laugh at me... lol. I'm still ten days away from being able to look at FP+ bookings, and I'm chomping at the bit, so I'm planning as much else as I can in the meantime! Plus, if I need to add anything in particular to my wardrobe for the week, I need to budget for it and buy over time, so I figure it makes sense to start thinking about these things now.
Heck I'm half packed 6 months out! LOL

Sorry to reignite the estrogen overload that is this thread, but I'm a little too excited! My Athleta dresses came in today... and the 2P (the blue one) actually fits! I'm going to wait a few days to post a pic because I've been on an antibiotic the last week or so that made it impossible to work out, so I need to defluff a little before any pictures are taken LOL... but I think I'm going to keep all three!

ETA: one of the coolest things: they all have a hidden pocket! Maybe that will cut down on the need for me to carry anything around the parks with me :)

"Defluff" -- I love it! :)

I'm not laughing! I'm going in May and started clothes shopping for this trip as soon as I booked it in January. My son has outgrown all of last year's summer clothes and I've lost too much weight for mine. I'm SO glad I've been spreading out the expense and the annoyance over the past couple months. Between the last-minute trip planning that's sure to come, and Easter and Mother's Day and everyday life, I wouldn't have the time or money to get it all done if I wasn't nearly done already.

Athleta was a godsend--I bought myself the same dress with the halter neck! So cute. The denim Bettina skort is $49, didn't like paying that much but it fits and feels AWESOME and I'll wear it a lot, in WDW and at home.

I've got dresses and comfy Clark's sandals for evenings but I just can't see myself wearing anything but sneakers during the day, so I stuck to athletic moisture-wicking tank tops and shorts for daytime. I bought most of them on www.sierratradingpost.com. Prices are very reasonable and they always have great coupon codes. Check out the brands Lole, Toad, and PrAna as another poster mentioned--really cute dresses and tops that don't scream "sporty." The site has an excellent return/exchange policy, too, and that came in handy because I was dealing with unfamiliar brands and sizing.

Have fun shopping and don't feel silly! Planning is half the fun, and planning in advance is sure better than tearing your hair out at the last minute!

I just wear shorts and T-shirts. My main thing are the shoes (Crocs flip flops because I feel constricted in tennis shoes and socks and I don't want to risk wearing wet socks... eeeewwww) and most importantly, something to put my hair up in because the minute I step out of the hotel room, my hair goes flat!

See, I have the opposite problem with my hair. I step out into that glorious morning mugginess and POOF! Afro time.

The tanks are good but I like to include some tops with short sleeves just for those days when I get too much sun and I want to cover up the shoulders for a while. When we go in the summer I almost always change my shirt after being out all day to something different at night.

I like skorts because they look nice and feminine, but I found them to be too hot since they are double layer of clothing rather than just a simple pair of shorts. Oh, and shorts with pockets! I do not bring my purse. I just need enough room for a credit card (or maybe next time we go I won't even need to bring that with the new bands), and my phone, and I make my husband carry our small camera in his pockets.

Yeah... right now I'm trying to grow my hair back out so that I can pull it back! It's about an inch away from my shoulders now, and I have two months... so I should just make it lol. I cut it off to a chin-length bob last winter because my hair was looking a little rough from the weight loss surgery. Now that it's healthy and all the dead parts have been cut away, I can't wait to have my long hair back!

But yet, mine will probably frizz too... another reason why I hope it's longer by then.

See, part of my issue is that I will probably need a small bag, if nothing else because I'll need a place to keep protein bars/bags of almonds for snacks between meals. Other than that, pockets will be perfect for phones and cameras.

My athletic skorts do have pockets, both on the sides and a cute little zipper one on the back :) so that may help some too.
