A registered ______ offender grabbed an 11-year-old girl in the behind at Downtown Disney today, deputies said.

Orange County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested Jose Angel Pamblanco Morales, 24, on charges of lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under the age of 12. He is being held without bond at the Orange County Jail.

Deputies received the call to Downtown Disney Westside shortly after midnight. Morales had left that area and was spotted in front of the BET Club at Pleasure Island. The victim identified Morales as the man who molested her.

Morales, of 863 Vista Palma Way, was arrested in 2004 on charges of lewd and lascivious exhibition of a child under the age of 16 and exposure of sexual organs, State Attorney's Office spokeswoman Danielle Tavernier said. He was found guilty and sentenced to three years in prison.

He only served 17 months in prison and was released in May 2007.

Check back for updates.

Not saying that being grabbed isn't a bad thing, but thank God that is all it was. And I hope she wasn't out at that time of night, in a place that has had problems before all by herself.

I honestly can not think of a less offensive way to describe said action.
Heh...I guess I'd expect a more clinical term like "buttocks." "Behind" strikes me as something a 9-year-old might say. No big deal, I guess, it just struck me funny.

Like Mad said, the more important thing is nothing more serious happened here.

As the father of 3 girls I would definitely agree.

NOT that it makes it any better, but that was my first thought--why was an 11 year old alone at that time of night?? I wouldn't let my 11 year old go there (or any where else for that matter) alone at 2:00 in the afternoon.

I hope the scumbag gets a real sentence this time so he cant do it again!:fork:

If Disney was looking for further justification for their decision to close PI, this was it.....

it's sad that there are creeps like that running around.....

I was thinking the same thing! It's so easy in a place like WDW to let your guard down. This past trip we took in April, my 10 yr old neice wanted to go back to the room at the Polynesian and grab something while we were at the pool (alone) and my sister absolutely refused to let her go by herself! (Thank goodness!) I couldn't imagine in this day and age letting her do that! Disney is such a magical and wonderful place but once in a while the real world does tend to creep in from time to time!

While this is certainly no light matter, if Disney hadn't of opened up the gate to PI to people under 21, an 11 year old would have never been at PI after midnight to begin with.

However, closing PI will unfortunately not put a stop to pedophiles finding their prey someplace else. :(

I don't find anywhere in the article (either version) where they mention that this happened at night. The dateline says the article was released at 1:58 PM today, and that it happened "today". I don't think that this was at night at all, but either this morning or early afternoon today.

Edit: and tigsmom is right - it doesn't say that it happened at PI either. It may or may not have. The perp was found there, though.

P.S., my bad - see post below
