Gifts waiting in hotel upon arrival?

Has anyone ever ordered gifts or welcome baskets to be placed in hotel room upon arrival to surprise a family member?

I want to order something special for my husband's birthday and have it waiting for us in our hotel room when we check-in but I don't know who to call? I am looking at "Disney goodie basket" or chocolate covered strawberries, something like that.

Has anyone done this or have any advice regarding this service? Who do I contact? Hotel? or special Disney service?
Thanks!:cool:

I tried doing this once, and was told they could not have it there upon arrival, because they don't know the room number until you check in. We had them put the basket in there while we were at dinner. Is it possible to have something waiting upon arrival now? That would excite me if it were...
We were just lucky that we were all on the same reservation.
That way, we were able to check in for them & have access to their room before they arrived.
See, we even checked in for them - one less thing to complain about! :lol:

All basket deliveries are made to the front desk. You can ask the company that you are working with to have it waiting for your arrival and you can get it when you check in.

If you want it delivered to your room you can request that at check in or have it delivered after you check in.

The exception is alcohol in a gift basket. Some CM's request that they see ID and have you pick it up at the front desk.

As for mark ups on merchandise, with the exception of Disney Florist, all the gift basket companies mark up. Some mark up the prices and others just have a larger basket/delivery fee. Price the merchandise, add the tax and the basket fee and see which is the best value.

We will be celebrating my fathers birthday on our June trip and I googled "in room gifts" and the second result was a link to this thread . I know you and I have butted heads before, but thanks for posting this link. I appreciate your 2007 post, lol.

And since this thread has been resurrected, i figured an addition might help if you're looking for an alternative to the Disney Florist.

If you're just looking for gifts at the hotel upon arrival, you can order anything through the Shop Disney Parks app for free delivery to the hotel. They also allow you to order 2 or 3 days before arrival so that it's ready and waiting when you arrive.
The one drawback is that you have to pick it up in the hotel gift shop, it won't be in your room.

I was going to do an and room celebration in November but then I decided that I just couldn't justify the expense..so I bought a bunch of things from Michael's hid them and set them up as a surprise. If you don't want to spend $500 you might want to look into bringing your own supplies I just put them in a separate suitcase zipped up.

@21stamps is good people
Awww.. thank you :) right back at ya.
