Getting to Breakfast reservations before park opening

We have a few reservations for Breakfast in the parks before park opening. One of the dining agents I spoke with said that the resorts have bus service early enough for this, but one of the other's when I was adding a reservation said that we may have to get a taxi to get there in time. Does anyone have any experience with this? and if so what would you suggest? Also to Magic Kingdom, once you get to TTC do you have problems getting a monorail/ferry for the early breakfast and do you have any problems getting into the park? Will there be a certain gate so that you don't get in the regular lines and miss your reservation? We have one reservation at Magic Kingdom and one at Animal Kingdom if that helps any.
Thanks!

We had a breakfast reservation last year at AK before the park opened. There were some Cms standing to the far right at the entrance. We told them we had dining reservations and they checked it against their list. We entered in with our park ticket and they told us which way to go. The buses are running early enough for you to arrive at the parks for your reservations. We had the same concerns last year because we had never done it before. Don't worry. The buses do run early. We did Donald's Breakfastasaurs and loved it. We are eating there again in April.

Have a great time!!

If your staying onsite you will get on a special breakfast bus. When you board you let the driver know which breakfast you are going to. You will go directly to MK so you won't have to worry about the TTC. Just like at AK, MK will have CM's that have a master list, you give them your name and reservation # and they check it off and in you go! We were there in Dec. the breakfast buses hit the resorts starting at 645 so we got to the bus stop at 640 and had no problems! (aside from getting 12 people up, ready and to the bus stop on our last day ....won't do that again!)

oh great! That sounds easy enough. I didn't realize the bus would take you straight to MK though and you could bypass the TTC. That sounds so much better.
I'm so glad to hear that Donald's in Animal Kingdom was good. I was up in the air about that one, so feel much better now.
Thanks!

Do not trust the people at the front desk , we stayed at POP without a car and the cast member at the desk told us there was no way to get to chef mickeys .. which there actually is , you just need to plan ahead and be early and as they just told me if you have an early entry to any park make sure you carry your confirmation number and your tickets ...but I would definetly recommend asking someone who will know when you first check in ...we paid $20 to go from pop to chef mickeys ...lesson learned!

I was there in December also, and the "breakfast buses" started running at 6:30 am during my stay. I just waited at the regular bus stop, hopped on a bus for Magic Kingdom, and when I arrived at the Magic Kingdom, I transferred to the monorail, since my breakfast was at the Contemporary.

I was worried about getting to breakfast also, but it went very smoothly, and breakfast was GREAT! :slurp:

You definitely SHOULD trust the people at the front desk. Sometimes they might get it wrong (there is a LOT of information to know about the entire property)....if a Cast Member tells you something that doesn't sound right to you, just ask someone for a second opinion.

We stayed at ASM in December and had 8:00 reservations at Crystal Palace at MK. We waited at the regular bus stop at the resort and went directly to MK. When we got there, CM were at the far right (closest to the bus stops). They asked if we had a breakfast reservation and we told them yes at CP. They didn't even check a list or confirmation#. It was great to get some really good pictures of my daughter on Main Street in front of the Castle with NOBODY else in them.:) Enjoy your stay!

Just being curious; how do u guys get up and get ready so early in the morning. Do u go to bed 7:00 pm? How can u sleep early when u're at disney world. I was there last week and with 2 kids(4 and 5). The kids would be so worn out from the last day that they didn't wanna get up early morning. The earliest I could do was 9:30-10:00am. I would like to make it early to enjoy time for emh in the morning. Any suggestions for future?

My kids are older (this visit they'll be 10 and 12) so we really just don't sleep too much while we are at Disney. We also only usually get to go once a year, so we want to make the most of it. We don't do too much of the extra magic hours in the morning, although we are there usually right at park opening. We do plan our visit for Magic Kingdom and MGM Studios evening extra magic hours though and then have a shorter day following that, like Animal Kingdom and Epcot, since the hours there aren't as long. I am looking forward to the early character breakfasts this year. Besides being fun, we'll already be in the parks and not at the big crowd at the gates at opening :) Last year, we did one of the EMH at MK where they opened at 8am and with the evening EMH we didn't leave until 2am. It was amzing and while tired, the kids had lots of fun and are looking forward to it again. We didn't keep them out there though all sleepy and cranky or anything, we kept a watch on them and asked them several times if they were ready to get back to the hotel for some sleep. If mine were younger though like yours, I couldn't do this especially since at home on school nights we still have 8pm bedtime :)

Well, I admit the last breakfast was a tough one. I made the error of setting that one for our last day at 730am at Ohanas...a bit of challenge getting 12+ people up, ready, packed up and to Ohana's by 730am! But we did it and had a blast.
We always try to do the EMH mornings, they seem to be less crowded than the evening ones and we can get a lot done in that time, which makes a trip back to the resort to swim or nap much easier. I think the earliest anyone went to bed on our 12-22 to 12-30-06 trip was maybe 930. But all but two adults were up and early every morning.

Early breakfasts

The early buses are supposed to take you where you need to go, but last year I encountered a bus driver who refused to take people to other resorts. He made all of us get of at MK and take the monorail, which made some of us late for our 7 am breakfast reservations. I doubt he still works there now because we all turned him in. The best thing to do is ask at the front desk about early buses. They have always been helpful to me!

Pirate Code!
Whoever falls behind, gets left behind!

That's what I told my girlfriend and she hasn't missed a breakfast yet!

Fortunately for us though, she is always the most beautiful Princess at the park even if she doesn't spend an hour and a half getting ready - that and the fact that some good food to start off the day is pretty good motivation for both of us!

When we were little, my parents always found a show (Hall of Presidents, American Adventure) or a ride (Universe of Energy) around the noon hour where they could relax and cool off, and we could sleep. We never needed to go back to the hotel for naptime, as we weren't fussy kids.

But when we went with cousin Brittney(age 4), we realized our schedule would not mesh with hers, (i.e. Getting up at 7, doing a park til close at 10 or 11, then bed at midnight, getting up at 7 again.) so right away my Mom made sure we were going from a Friday evening to the following Sunday. This way we had 8 full days at the parks, and only 5 day passes.

First day was MK, then we relaxed the 2nd. 3rd was MGM. Relaxed the 4th. 5th was Epcot. 6th was AK (since it was a shorter day), 7th was relaxing, and 8th was All the Parks, or anything we'd forgotten.

If you can get that many days off of work, and get the kids out of school for that long (or go in the summer), we'd totally recommend it. One day off, one day on was FABULOUS - we all got to sleep in really late, and do restaurants like The Grand Floridian Cafe and ones at DTD. Worked VERY well for us. ;)

I totally agree with amykissangel. We do it a little differently, but the thought process is definitely the same. While I only have one (age 5), when we do the early/before park opening breakfasts, I make sure we come back to the resort during the afternoon. We miss the busiest parts of the day in the parks, and while he hasn't napped in years, it gives us some time to relax, swim, play and hang out. It really helps. The plus is being in the parks before they open, so when they do open, you are already deep in the park and can usually ride your favorites without too much of wait!
