Getting the most from Concierge services

Pam has just booked us a room for Jan 2007 at the Yacht Club on the concierge floor and needless to say we are very excited. My question is:

I would like to know how to best make use of the concierge services. I have been doing a little reading and am still not clear on just exactly what we might ask from our concierge before or during our stay. Knowing the quality of "magical" service provided by CM's, I am assuming that they enjoy helping us as much as possible. So, if we know how they can help us it will make it more fun for us and more fun for them to have us as guests.

For example, I typically make all my priority seatings in advance. Which is great but a little confining at times. It would be great to know that we can wait and make all our priority seatings once we are there, giving us the flexibility to wake up each day and then decide where we want to go and where we want to eat.

Anyway, I would appreciate any and all information from guests and particularly CM's who might help us learn what we can request and expect from concierge service at the Yacht Club.

Thanks so much

I might be wrong on this - I haven't stayed Concierge for a long time... but at last check the Concierge CM's are just CM's not magicians ;) I don't think you can get PS anywhere, it has to be available... I might be wrong on that... but if that is the case - you def don't want to wait to make your PS's, making them ahead of time will ensure you get what and when you want... :)

During Christmas 2004 my family & I were staying on the Atrium Club (back then was called the Tower Club) at the Contemporary & a mother & daugther were trying to make a priority seating for Christams Day at the Concourse Steakhouse. The Cast Member told them the only times were avaible were 6:30 pm or 9:15 PM. So just because they were staying on a special level at the Contemporary, they didn't get special priority seating times that they wanted at the Concourse Steakhouse. Anyway I hope this information helps.

As others have stated, The Concierge Intinary Planners will only have access to the same table availability as our Guests who call 407-WDW-DINE directly.

When you book a stay in a Concierge Club Level Room, the Concierge Cast of your Resort will contact you by mail or e-mail within a few weeks after you have placed your deposit on your vacation. You then fill out a form with your dinning, golf, tour, and other recreation preferences, and the concierge office will then make your reservations based on the current availability.

Once you arrive, you can make a new or modify an existing reservation by visiting the Concierge Desk, pressing the Dine button on your in-room phone, or calling 1-407-WDW-DINE directly. Any way you choose to do it, the table availability will be the same.

Hope this helps! :sohappy:

Thank you all. That does help, but I would still be interested in learning more about the services beyond priority seating issues. It raises a couple of other questions.

Can we ask the concierge service on this form they provide us to even make PS for Cinderella's Castle for breakfast?

Can anyone tell me about any special requests they received as a CM or requests as a guest?

thanks

Like it was stated before Cast Members on Concierge floors have no control over when you or where you want to make a priority seating & that includes Cinderella's Royal Table for breakfast, because that is all done threw 407-WDW-DINE, so again I say jusy because your staying on a Concierge floor does not automatically mean you will get a priority seating for Cindy's. Since your going in January 2007 you should try & find out what is the 1st day you can make a priority seating there for breakfast & call 407-WDW-DINE because I heard they are extremly hard to get. You could ask the Concierge at the Yacht & Beach Club to make it for you while your there, but chances are they won't have any spots free. For special request made by guests, here is a example of a one my family always asks for at the Atrium Club at the Contemporary. My Mom likes to have a half a Grape Fruit with Skin Milk when she has breakfast however those items are not offered as an everyday selection, so everytime we go there we have always asked if they can get that for her & it's never problem. What else is good about that is that they never charged us for those items. Another perk that I know you can do at the Contemporary but I am sure you can do at the Yacht & Beach Club is check in on your floor & not check in at the front desk of the hotel. Basically once you get to the Yacht & Beach Club tell them your checking into the Conciergre floor, drive to the front where they bellman will take you & your bags up to your floor where you check right in.

I've stayed At the "Tower Club" at the Contemporary and they were as accomodating as I expected. Its more about the food during the day and the nightcaps for us. Is it worth it? I don't think so. Staying Concierge level on a cruise-now that's a different story. You feel like royalty and people wonder why EVERYONE breaks their back for you,for them its the end of the week tips!

The Poly concierge staff has always gotten me PS/ADRs even at the hard to get places like CRT (before the recent changes) and V&A's Chef's Table.

They may not be magicians, but whatever it is they do - it works for me.

My DH and I stayed at the WL Concierge on our honeymoon and they made PS's for us (well in advance) for all the places to eat- Including Cindy's Royal Table.
Also, I was looking for some Disney Just Married T-Shirts or something and asked them about it and they had some made for me (granted I paid for them, but they are one of a kind), there is also tons of food up there so don't make too many Dinner reservations because the food is great- at least it was 3 years ago.

Hope this helps a little!

We stayed at the concierge level at AKL, and the concierge desk took care of our PS reservations before we got there. If I remember right, they even contacted us when the 90-day window started to ask if we wanted any PS reservations made.

One of my friends family stays at the Yacht and Beach club at least 3 times a year on the concierge floor. All he tells me is that they offer free wine, beer and Cervase (spelling). He tries to break even with the free drinks. One note though, definitely try to eat at the Yachtsmen Steakhouse, ask for Oscar.

The CR CM's (14th) have always went above and beyond for us. The pre-planning office sent our sheet and I emailed them our PS requests, including Cindy's. There was not any available at the time, but- here is where concierge service kicks in- they worry about checking every day to get you in - and guess what, we got in- the day we wanted and time we wanted.

It is also nice if you need to make changes to just send an email and they will take care of it for you. I think last time we changed dining plans, ohh 4 times  . All it took was an email. And if we wanted to change plans while we were there- we would just let them know- we would go off to the park and when we got back, there was a slip under our door with the changes.

Definately use them, they are not magaicians, but sometimes they can make magic happen.

Also, YC concierge was very nice and very friendly. You should enjoy it there.

Here is a related question. Is there a system of transportation within WDW other than the public? Ie., is it possible for the conceirge to get you a limo or cab to let's say go from the hotel to the Hoopdedoo (sp?) revue? Would it be an offsite vehicle or does disney maintain such a service?

thanks
