The idea of toontown is good, and the character stuff is necessary. The ability to wait in air conditioning to see characters is a great thing if you have little ones.

They could fix this up without spending all that much money -- the theming in DL can be added to WDW without that much expenditure. As for the dark ride, that's more money of course, but I've always though there should be a Mickey & Friends dark ride. Philharmagic helps a little, but I'd still like a dark ride to go with it.

My DD, as any child does, asks a ton of questions. And, like me, she's a stickler for details. She had so many questions on our trip, and most (all) of my answers came on the fly. She wanted to know why there's a castle where Mickey lives, why Cinderella lives in the same place, ect. Over the course of our trip, here's what I ended up telling her:

Mickey built his house, then built one for Minnie. He invited his friends, and Donald brought his boat, and then Goofy built his barn. People came to visit, and Cinderella decided it was a nice place to build her castle. As more and more people came to visit, everything else was built. So, in essence, Toontown is essential to us for the sake of my story!

Seriously though, I like Toontown. I think maybe one or two more rides would be nice. But I enjoyed seeing inside Mickey & Minnie's houses. I especially enjoyed the air conditioned meet-n-greets. Stop complaining and start enjoying MK & WDW! Just my 2 cents.

First, let me say, my little ones love Toon Town. Having said that, I can't stand it. I agree that it seems like a huge waste of space. I like the rollercoaster, but that's about it. It's nice to have the spot to be able to see the characters, but that's about it.

Everyone keeps saying that DL's Toon Town is better, so since I have never been to DL, what's the difference?

Even comparing the maps of the parks would show you. Google the maps. DL's TT is located in the north-western corner while WDW's is in a cramped corner (North-eastern-ish).

Just looking at the map makes me envious. :goodnevil
