Basically it was reported on Twitter back on May 4th of last year that Iger was at HS to make a Star Wars announcement, then social media started reporting that Lucas was there, then we found out that none of this was true, then things turned ugly.

Yes, well, thats mostly due the fault of one social media site that perpetuated the rumor.

Indeed. George was the one that went "Why do you care so much about the timeline? It's Disneyland, this shouldn't matter" when presented with a Hoth scene featuring wampas instead of AT-ATs. Probably the same sort of logic that gave us that sea of Disney luggage gags that take you out of the setting.

Many years ago I saw George Lucas walking out from the Hard Rock Café at Universal Studios. He was with some lady and they were walking out of the side exit. It was unquestionably him because I definitely recognized his face.

Given what "role". He sold his assets to Disney and retired several years ago. He is out of the business entirely and he has made that quite clear.

John Lasseter and Kevin Feige are employees for the Disney Company and Cameron has an ongoing collaborative project in the works. It's not the same thing at all.

it took him and his father nearly 40 years to finish the gigantic hotel if I remember correctly.
So getting his own disneyland might take him 60 years of famine and nuke tests.
