General Thoughts of Frozen

I liked the movie a lot; it was interesting to see two princesses instead of one, see them grow in the castle (and not be separated from their parents at birth, or raised by a stepmom who makes her do chores, stuff like that), then one of them having magical powers, becoming queen and not getting involved with anyone romantically was a refreshing change. ;)
Children love the characters, anything Frozen sells, so I can understand why Disney wants to milk it as much as possible - we mustn't forget that entertainment is a business! And it doesn't bother me that they do use it as much as they do. Whatever works...

for this, i'm gonna mash up a Lincoln quote:
You can shove Frozen into all the people's faces for some of the time, you can even shove Frozen into some of the people's faces all the time, but you can't annoy all the people with Frozen all the time.

The current situation is very explanatory for how bad the Disney management, especially the creative branch is being run right now. Frozen would be an attraction that naturally belongs into MK's Fantasyland. For reasons unknown (well, a recent Fantasyland makeover makes it a little harder to justify another FL addition) they decided to mess around with the little authencity World Showcase has to offer nowadays. But since this decision is lining up with all the other "creative mistakes" done with Epcot and the whole of WDW over the past 20 years, it's just another brick in the wall..

Attendance will slightly rise and afterwards will quickly go below the current attendance.
A possible scenario could be:
Afterwards, WS gets the cartoon makeover, FW will be dumbed down for even the most uneducated kids to understand every little nonexistent spark of ingenuity, and then we can eventually say goodbye to a park once
called EPCOT CENTER.. leaving an empty hull with no inspiration whatsoever.

I think the movie was ok. It's the music that made the movie. And that's what kids remember. But it's almost a year old now and when the next disney movie comes out, frozen won't be as big of a deal anymore. I still think it will draw tons of fans to the attractions but with toy story 4 and finding dory coming out. I think that will calm down the frozen craze.

I really liked Frozen. I don't have a problem with most of how Frozen has been integrated into the parks (it is the same thing over in DL). I do not like the idea of it replacing Maelstrom and what I am afraid is going to be a rushed, square peg in a round hole result. I would much rather a fully fleshed out ride go in the Magic Kingdom than a rushed one pigeon-holed in an area it doesn't really fit.

I was in WDW last month, and literally the ONLY time Frozen affected my trip (outside of brief appearances, which I enjoyed, in Festival of Fantasy and Celebrate the Magic) was at the DHS rope drop. That thing was a waste of everyone's time. However, that was really it. People act as though they are being forced to participate in Frozen activities throughout their entire trip, but it just wasn't true, in my case.

Pretty good movie, but undeserving of its own place in EPCOT...especially to replace an icon like Maelstrom.

Perhaps Disney should have tapped the brakes and waited to see how a couple character spots, parade appearances, and perhaps a Frozen show would do before ruining an icon and putting this nonsense in a park that celebrates culture, not catchy theme songs.

If in 5 years people can't "Let It Go," build a NEW concept in a park that makes sense and don't take away something we love because you're lazy.

I was disappointed in the movie. I didn't see it way after all the hype or anything- I saw it just after it came out and I was looking forward to it, but it just didn't do it for me. The characters, the writing/story, it was all a bit off for me from start to finish, it just didn't have that Disney "it" for me. That thing that makes a Disney movie a Disney movie. I enjoyed Tangled a bazillion times more. Really couldn't and still don't get the praise Frozen has got.

However, I LOVE Let It Go. I could listen to that song over and over. It's a fantastic song. Gives me goosebumps.
I wonder if the film would of been so hyped and well recieved without it.

I also don't mind Frozen in the parks- wouldn't of minded seeing the Frozen fireworks and real snow and because I love Let It Go, I loved that part of celebrate the magic when I saw it in May.
The amount of great merchandise and the overall Frozen "feel" actually made me want to like it and try seeing it how others did, but it's still a pretty meh film to me. And I don't think I've ever said that about any Disney film!

Well, to be fair, it was better than Home on the Range...

This has been discussed on so many other threads ad nauseum. Hopefully, part of your assignment is how to research.

Wow, maybe while they are doing that research you could do a wee bit of research on politeness. Or maybe just skip threads you don't want to participate in instead of acting rude to a new member., someone force you to click into this thread did they ?

I think Frozen was one of the best Disney movies of the last 10 years, I still prefer Tangled more and think Bolt is at least 95% as good as Frozen overall if not it's equal. I don't mind the heavy influence it is having in both the parks and in public in general. I love going to the parks and seeing the movies in real life, it's a connection for us. The demand is clearly there so why would Disney not meet that demand. It will subside at some point but it will remain one of their most popular properties for years to come IMO.

So what is YOUR opinion on all the Frozen updates to WDW?

Thank you for your time.

Here is my opinion of how Disney is treating Frozen, courtesy of the Guardians of the Galaxy:

Team Disney Orlando: "We have a plan!"

Rabid Disney Fan: "You've got a plan? Okay, first of all, you're copying me from when I said I had a plan."

Team Disney Orlando: I'm not copying you, I have a plan, that's not that unique of a thing to say.

Rabid Disney Fan: "And secondly, I don't think you even have a plan."

Team Disney Orlando: "I have part of a plan."

Team Disney Anaheim: "What percentage of a plan do you have?"

Team Disney Orlando: "I dunno... Twelve percent?"

Rabid Disney Fan: "Twelve percent? HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HAAAA!"

Team Disney Orlando: "That's a fake laugh."

Rabid Disney Fan: "It's REAL!"

Team Disney Orlando: "Totally fake!"

Rabid Disney Fan: "That is the most real, authentic, hysterical laugh of my entire life because THAT IS NOT A PLAN!"

Universal: "It's barely even a concept." *smirks and walks away satisfied*

Kid Dressed as Elsa: "I like Frozen!"

Rabid Disney Fan: "So what, you like Frozen. What the hell does that have to do with anything?"

Team Disney Orlando: "Thank you Kid, thank you. See? She's the only one of you who has a clue."

*Kid dressed like Elsa starts picking her nose*

I love frozen, love the story and music but overall its not the best disney film. The thing that annoys me the most is suddenly everyone loves disney when they couldn't even care less before frozen!

I have to have evidence that I started a conversation about my topic. I understand there are many others of this thread, which I have researched.

Thank you, to everyone else for your responses so far, really helping to gather information. :)
