Indeed, tho, the X-Men animated series is being revived in the Fall of 2023.

Other projects not mentioned (yet)...

Movies
  • Deadpool 3
  • the aforementioned live Mutants movie (which could be D+ series, tho)
  • Hulk
  • Nova
  • Shang-Chi 2

D+ Series
  • Armor Wars
  • Okoye
  • Wonderman

Unscheduled
  • What If?... 3rd season
  • X-Men '97: 2nd season
  • Marvel Zombies (sometime 2024)

The lack of announcement of Armor Wars surprised me. That's been mentioned long ago as part of Phase 4.

Also, no mention of Werewolf by Night for this Fall.
Guardians Christmas Special also not shown on the timeline graphic. On the series list there’s a Wakanda series in development that is separate from Okoye, and a Ten Rings affiliated one.

Disney also updated their release list yesterday per Deadline and other Box Office news sites:

Also per the Deadline article https://deadline.com/2022/07/marvel-cinematic-universe-films-list-phase-five-six-1235076274/ Disney still has 2/16/24 on the schedule as Untitled Marvel (not featured on Phase 5 graphic). I bet that ends up being Deadpool 3 if they decide to announce it at D23.

Feige says Spider-Man is going to be a street level hero like Daredevil. So they seemingly know where it’s going. Obviously it could be Venom 3 but I wonder if that June 2024 Sony movie is that’s the real reason Watts dropped from F4.

In watching the video of Feige introducing the phases, he called the 18 episode series of Daredevil... "the first season"!

Updating the list...

Guardians Christmas Special releases this Dec 2022, just no drop date yet.
Same for Werewolf by Night Halloween Special, this October 2022, just no drop date yet.

I suspect these will likely get their drop dates at D23.

Well people were complaining that 6 episodes felt too short. So they got their wish, they now have a full standard seasons of a Marvel show. I'm already starting to see rumblings online of "its too long".....

Can't please anyone, they will always complain.

The only one I am surprised they didn't announce was Shang-Chi 2. The first movie was very well received and did very well.

Remember they have to save somethings for D23 and for Disney investor day (D+ Day or whatever else they're call it now).

I was actually surprised they announced as much as they did.
I think part of it has been complaints that Phase 4 appeared aimless. Now you’ve given a roadmap that all leads to two giant Avengers movies. So if you were starting to check out She-Hulk is suddenly more appealing.

There’s still so much left to announce that D23 could end up being the bigger Marvel event.

Well, you know, after creating and really liking the Superhero ComiCon-like Convention for a Ms. Marvel episode, there was buzz within Marvel about doing their own Marvel convention...

People complained because there was too much filler for such a short season. When you do a 6 episode season with episodes averaging 30 to 35min each. It should all be compelling stuff. So in a way people complained about the marvel shows being too short because they all needed an episode more or more time per episode. But if you really look at the complaints, it was more about they used the time. I know, t least for me, I don't mind the 6 to 8 episode format. Especially if that's all you need to tell the story. But too often we see a messy rushed ending because they weren't more concise with there storytelling.

That's true for some, but I don't think those two statements are mutually exclusive either. I can say the 2 oz steak is too small for me but the 48 oz one it too large, both can be true. I think some of these 6 episode ones were called too short because they decided to cram everything in the last episode with no build. There was so much junk in the middle episodes, and then the build to the final showdowns was like 10 minutes. 18 is a LOT of episodes. That said, I'm not close to complaining about it right now. There is a TON of storylines they can run throughout the series. Do things to bring in the other characters from other Netflix shows (which we have seen in the universe)? Honestly the episodes are just a number to me. They can have a midseason wrap up of a story line, and lead into the next group easily.

Many of the directors have mentioned that the COVID protocols (lockdowns, labor shortages, travel restrictions, shut-downs due to positive tests... and everyone was being tested regularly) were the cause of having to cut corners in the plot since the amount of time they had to film was short.

WandaVision scenes for the later episodes were doing reshoots as the first episode aired. FatWS had to change which country they were shooting in. And so on...

It's funny that some people were complaining that the Netflix Marvel series were too long. And now some are complaining the D+ series are too short.

Some complain there isn't enough action and there's too much drama. Others like the drama.

Some complain that a particular film or series isn't advancing the overall arc/phase/saga. Others like that some films/series are standalones and aren't shoehorning connections to other films/series.

Some complain about the different genres the series and films have taken, others applaud the diversity.

Some complain about superhero fatigue, others can't seem to get enough.

Those who complained about Phase 4 appearing aimless just didn't understand that its Phase 1 again for a new saga. So it has to be disjointed because they are building up again the connective tissue that joins all the stories together, just like Phase 1 did for the Infinity Saga.

Remember they didn't tell us about the Infinity Saga until deep into it.
