I have to laugh at that. My first quilt was an absolute wreck. I learned along the way and went to quilt clubs and other experienced quilters. It took several years for my quilts to suit me. So, keep trying to sew in a straight line. It's more fun to Not sew in a straight line

You'd be surprised how many competition quilters use them

Yeah, it kind of goes in cycles with me. I have been away from quilting for a while and just started up again. It's nice to take a break from things, at least for me.

Yes, they are great to help keep a 1/4 inch seam. I usually sew a slight quarter inch, which works out better for me. Everyone has to figure out what works best for them with their machine. The walking foot is a wonderful tool too for thicker sewing.I love my 1/4 inch and edge guide feet

Wow, 5000 pieces!! Jigsaws got me through lockdown but I stuck to 1000 pieces
I'd be curious to know how long it takes you!

It’s still under my bed. I can’t get in the mood to finish it.

Half the problem is the physical size of the puzzle and having somewhere to do it.
Feeding James can be quite the challenge
